I used to be a reactor operator on nuclear submarines. That probably sounds more exciting that it was. Once I was at a train station in Italy when a young lady in a police uniform started yammering at me in some foreign language. She took me back to her office and found an Italian-English dictionary. She opened it up and pointed at a word. I don't remember what the word was, but the definition was "under arrest." That was pretty interesting. I went to Chile and sat around with some college kids playing guitar. They were very impressed that I could play "Stairway to Heaven." They would have been more impressed if they knew I can sing the theme song to "Gilligan's Island" while I play it. I almost got beat up in a bar for doing that. I went on a canoe trip in Algonquin Park in Ontario for a week or so. The second nite out I spilled boiling soup all over my feet. That really hurt. I toughed it out though. I think I still have the scars. Just a minute, I'll check........
Books
I am currently reading a book of daily meditations from Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I have tried reading his stuff before, but I find it a little difficult, so I figure I'll try one piece a day.
