I do devotionals for Home league almost every Tuesday, a couple of Tuesdays ago we talked about the greatest healer, being Jesus Christ. We played pictionary, a game where you draw a certain topic and the other people get to guess what you are drawing. Well we were trying to guess which healing, done by Jesus, was being drawn. We drew the man who had leprosy (Luke 5:12-14) The crippled man lowered through the roof of the house where Jesus was preaching. (Luke 5:17-26) The woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:42-48) The demon possessed man and the pigs (Luke 8:26-39) The blind man who was healed. (Luke 18:35-43) While I was preparing for this lesson God kept telling me "I can still do those things"......I kept telling myself I know you can, I know you can, but did I? Don't get me wrong I have faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ, but it is really hard to imagine that God would do such things today in 2008, I ask myself why is it hard to imagine that God can still do those things??
Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That was the focus of my devotional that Jesus, who we serve today is the same as yesterday. We need to have the faith that he can heal, restore, repair, just like he did when he was on earth, He has given us that power to do so in His name!
It was brought to my attention that one Home League lady has just been diagnosed with cancer on that same day! When I was told, I was like it's time to practice what I'm preaching about, so we laid hands on her with a huge, I mean HUGE amount of faith, that our Lord Jesus is still the same! We left it at that....we had faith!
The following Tuesday, the Home League lady was happy to report that the doctor DID NOT find cancer at all in her body! Praise God!!!! God is great, he can still open seas, cure the blind, heal the sick....remember God is not too busy for you, You just need to knock with faith, and he will open the door! God can still do the same things in 2008!
