Howdy family;
I recently read an old book which I know many are familiar with. "The Cross and the Switchblade" I thought I had read idt when I was in Jr. High, but there's so much that never registered. At the time I protected myself from a relationship with Christ with my religion. I wasn't really much of a W.A.S.P. I just used it to keep Jesus from getting close to me.
I don't remember ever praying besides the "now I lay me down to sleep" type when I was 5 or 6 years old. Then in the mid 80's I was a seventh day Adventist for a few years. But in fairness to that denomination, I was much more into what God could do for me. most of my prayers were surface, or "God Gimme" prayers.
I still struggled with my addictive behavior but was a long way from giving myself to Christ in my heart of hearts. Why? I don't really know. I liken it the the wolf in "Dances with Wolves" when he would only come so close to the light.
I've said the right prayers, God I give myself to you. Have your way with me. But it always seems when he moves towards me I still flinch. I still want to look for hiding places.
As I was reading the "Cross and the Switchblade" I was convicted that the next "hiding place" is the TV. Even if I generally watch TBN I believe God wants me to spend more time in prayer. More one on one with him.
Maybe as I strive to this I'll learn not to flinch.
Blessings,
David

Hi one and all thanks for your prayer requestes. Physically I'm improving. Spiritually I'm growing. this has had an impact on my eye sight I must ask that you all would pray that god intervene and restore my eyesight if its his will.
I cant help but think of that statement in Job that I used to know of God but now I know him. The more I know him the more I love him. The more I wanna know him.
Blessings,
David

The issue below is of great importance. This will affect our communities and our nation in a very real way. It's time to take a stand. On Friday, April 25th, several thousand schools across the nation will be observing a "Day of Silence (DOS)." DOS is a nationwide push to promote the homosexual lifestyle in public schools. Schools across the country are permitting and sponsoring this event. Log onto the American Family Associations Website for further info and to see if your child's school is participating. Thanks to everyone for your prayers concerning my dad and nephew. Both are doing quite well. My father is just dealing with some standard after affects from the stroke; like speech connection and delayed reactions but still doing great. Although we haven't received the official report from the doctor yet, it appears that the leukemia is in remission also!
My 22 year old nephew is doing intense therapy to regain use of his right side and they have classified his brain hemorrhage as a stroke also. He has gotten some feeling back in his foot and his vocal cords on the right side are starting to kick back in a little too! He is staying out of the wheelchair and swinging his leg from the hip to get around while using a cane. He is pretty upbeat now and determined to heal all the way. He's anxious to return to the Coast Guard!
Please keep praying for their hearts to be turned to the Lord. My father knows that many people have been praying for him and he's still carrying the prayer cloth we received from the healing ministry in our church! Yippee!
Blessings Everyone! Robin

9/14/2007, 7:30 pm, Best Western Holiday PlazaI-75, exit 87, Richmond, Kentucky, 40475
Hab. 2:14 "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."
Glory is what rises upon us and we are to reflect. The Glory is what departed and left Adam and Eve naked in the garden when they sinned. It is what Moses told God he wanted to see, and what the Priest experienced when dedicating Solomon's Temple. The Glory is the treasure that is deposited within us and we carry around. It's what we are to be ever increasing in ..
Set aside this weekend and be filled with the Glory of God. The conference is FREE and the hotel offers a great rate of $46.00 if you mention Father's House. Call 859 624-8620 to let us know you are coming and if you desire prophetic ministry.
