About Me

Seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven and all things will be added unto you.

Personal About Jay:
Jay has worked at Lowes for three and a half years and has worked for MWR at Ft. Sill for 13 years.  He plays electric and acoustic guitar and currently is playing live shows for "100 Proof" here in Lawton. He is a loving husband and father.  Although he is not currently a Christian he explores the idea from time to time and has attended church at the Salvation Army in Lawton for the last two years. Currently he has been working hard to move up at Lowes and has been recording his bands CD at the studio in Wichita Falls with the other band members.  They try to practice at least four days a week, he is very commited to his musical talent. He likes game night and fishing.  He likes to watch The Family Guy, and Andrew Zimmerman Bizzarre foods (we both like) AND Myth Busters

What We Like to Do: We have game night every Wednesday night, we invite friends over and I cook a lot of food, we eat and have fun. This is our primary form of entertainment. Our family goes fishing in the boat, camping, and we like watching movies together.  We try to get to go out to eat sometimes. We like listening to Jay play guitar.  At home, the kids and I, garden and preserve foods like salsa, pickles, and jams.  We have also made some homemade wine in the past but no longer do that.  We freeze a lot of vegetables for winter use.  Jocelyn plays softball during the summer and she goes to church related camps and Sunbeams.

Personal about Hollie: I am a christian learning to listen to the Lord- in every day things he speaks to me. In the last YEAR I have learned that I can HEAR him! AMEN! I try to do as he teaches me. I believe that the Lord has called me to teach in the field of special education. The Bible of course is my primary guide, but also through my marriage, my children, the people the Lord sends me, the books I read, the plants I grow and the food I cook. I feel tremendous relief and peace in the presence of the Lord. My life has not and is not Easy (not that any ones is?) The Lord gives me JOY! Even when I don't agree or want to do what the Lord tells me (I call it the Jonah syndrome) I still know its Him and he is there! Then I just fight myself to OBEY hahaha. I playing and watching like sports, reading and writing, doing art with the kids.  I like singing to them (poor kids) and some day would like to sing for the Lawton Corps (I'm sorry guys but I like to sing). I love music, scrapbooking, arts and crafts, cooking, horticulture, camping, carpentry, volunteerism, planning parties and events and playing with kids. I love to read, and I like to write stories poetry and lessons, making this page is fun too. I help out at the Veterans Service Center when I can and also participate in the Heartland Share.  I like classic and antique trucks and own a 1959 Ford pick-up, that I am currently working on. As far as t.v. goes, I don't have much time for it but when I do, I like watching The Alaska Experiment, Lost, CNN, Glenn Beck and SEASAME STREET.

OUR THANKS TO THE LORD: My husband and I live here FAR away from our extended family, we count on our church friends and other friends to be our family in Lawton, we have many surrogates.  Jay and I have come to realize, through humility and experience, that we simply cannot make it in this world on our own.  Any semblance of pride we once had has been systematically eradicated by the Lord (or inspired by the Lord) over the last couple of years. Galatians 4:19 "Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives." I think this is a particularly difficult situation for men to endure. God has sent us many blessings/helpers: Kathy, Noelene, David, Beverly, Christina, Patti, DeeJay, Melissa, Linda, Barbara (several), Debbie, Cheryl, Bob, Quinten and Nina, Jenny, Ms. Jackie, Shawn and Sgt. Mgr. and his wife, Eva and Darrel, to name only a few. We want you all to know how much you mean to us as Christ becomes fully developed in our lives.
