I consider Proverbs 3:5-6 to be My Life Verses. God spoke these words to me when I was at the deepest, darkest point of my life. His words had a life-changing impact on me and from that moment on I have never been the same.
Trust in the LORD with all of your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6 (New Living Translation)
My Blog List
Most Recent:
Have I Told You Lately - A love Song to God
Surely We Can Change - David Crowder Band - A Beautiful Song Video with Lyrics
Takin' Care of Business - We all have business to take care of. We are of course in the world. Not of it, but in it. And we can mix all that "busy-ness" with taking a little time each day to be about our Father's business too!
Christian Job Description - A list of verses in the New Testament that describe how we are to treat "One Another"
Look Upon The Lifted - Yesterday, I went to the little lagoon near my apartment to spend a little time in meditation and prayer. It was kind of a cloudy day and a little chilly. As I sat watching the ducks and listening to the breeze whisper through the tree branches which hang over the waters edge, I was reminded of the verse where Jesus likens the Spirit of God to wind.
You Can't Work It In - But You Can Work It Out - So many people I see and so many blogs I read reveal that a majority of the body of Christ are still out there searching and begging God for the key. They are looking to the external hoping and begging and praying for something that you already have in your possession.
Grace - Your Definition - I am in the process of studying, and preparing a blog series on "The Manifold Grace of God". What a fascinating and amazing gift this grace of God is.
What Bothers You? - Are there certain Christian philosophies that just really, I mean really get under your skin? I know there are a couple that do bother me. And they bother me a lot. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. Maybe I am the one that's way off base here. Maybe the bible I am reading is speaking to me differently than the bible that you read?
Love - According to Some Kids - What does "Love" mean? A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does 'love' mean?' The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:
If There Were No Hell - I have come to this place in my walk that I would continue to seek and serve God, and study the word, and follow the Spirit, and just love on the Lord even if there were no such thing as hell, or even heaven for that matter.
Healing Thoughts - 87% to 95% of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of our thought life. What we think about affects us physically and emotionally. It's an epidemic of toxic emotions.”
My Wonderful Life - A couple of ways that the dictionary defines the word wonderful is that which is fantastic, extraordinarily good, or great. When I speak of how my life is absolutely wonderful, I can't honestly say that it finds it's home in either one of those definitions. Yet, I say that my life is wonderful because I am, and may always be, full of wonder.
Eve Had Second-Hand Word - Most of us are quite familiar with the story that describes the temptation of Eve. We know how the devil used his tactics of deceit to get Eve to doubt what God had said. But what I aim to point out in this little blog is that Eve, didn't really know God's word. Eve was relying on second-hand information.
My Personal Favorites:
God Can? God Will? or God Has? - Are we waiting on God to move or can we pull, by faith, that which is already a spiritual reality into the physical realm?
Get Spirit = Get Holy- If we could get holy on our own we would not need the Holy Spirit. It's the law of displacement.
Vain Imaginations - When fail to glorify, or magnify God, and place the utmost value on Him, then inevitably, we will begin to fail to give thanks. We live in a world that is predominately thankless and according to this verse, that all started when they, or we, began failing in our glorification of God.
The WORD is Worth 1,000 Pictures - Our lives are going to go the direction of our most dominant thoughts. We are the cartographers that layout the navigational guidelines for this journey called life. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. We cannot go anywhere in the natural that we have not first been in the mind. If we can see it, then we can be it.
Spirit, Soul, & Body - Your Spirit is what got born again. One third of your salvation is complete. We are no longer only human. One-third of us is wall-to-wall Holy Ghost.
The Mind of Christ - "The born-again spirit part of you already contains the very mind of Christ. Often when we pray we are asking God to speak to us or give us an answer and we expect that answer to come from maybe an audible voice or some other outside source. But the truth of the matter is that the very mind of Christ has already been placed within your spirit! "
The Eyes Of Your Heart - "We have all heard and probably sung the song "Open The Eyes of My Heart". I know I have, many times. I love that song. But have you ever really stopped to think about what that means? Is it possible that we can actually see with our hearts?"
The Faith 'OF' God - Jesus used miracles to confirm His message time and time again. He used healing like a bell to draw people unto Him. What makes us think that we can reach people simply by our words alone? If Jesus himself used miraculous signs to prove that He is the Son of God, then I say we need to follow suit. In fact, that's what we have been commanded to do.
Jesus, The Great Mediator - If Moses can beg God to repent from His wrath and spare the people and becaue of this, God repented. And Abraham can negotiate with God to spare the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, and nearly succeed. Don't you think that Jesus can do at least that good of a job mediating with God on our behalf?
I Am Glad I Didn't Walk With Jesus - Walking with Jesus would have been an incredible experience. Watching Jesus perform miracles. Watching Him teach the multitudes. Watching Him spread love and rebuke religion. That would have been amazing. Just being in his presence on a daily basis would have been unforgettable. But would it have been better than what we have available in Jesus today? Would it have been better than walking with him in the Spirit?
God Never Stops Transmitting - God's is pouring out His Spirit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. He never stops. If you are not hearing from God it is not because He is not speaking to you.
A Can Of Worms With The Lid Popped Off - Our sins have been paid for. Not only the sins of the believer, but the sins of the whole world. Does this mean that everyone is saved? Of course not. It is up to us to appropriate that payment. We have to cash it in. It's like a check has been written in our name but if we never take it to the bank, it is of no value.
Consider Job's End - I write this little blog today for the purposes of offering some comfort to those of you have lost loved ones, specifically children, before their God appointed time.
My Poems:
This World So Wide - Trapped inside this world so wide, so wide yet so confined. Contained within this little world, this world I call my mind.
The Spout Of Greater Things - Gazing through the scales of life My vision not yet clear. I climb the ropes of faded hopes, Those dreams of yester-year....
Life's Pain - Love I thought I knew so well. Love I craved so deep. It was a love that one day ends. A love that one day sleeps......
Weeds of Seeds - Three years ago began a trip toward lands to me unknown. This trip began by chopping down the weeds of seeds I'd sown. These weeds of seeds and sinful deeds had left me lost and cold. So I lost my life, forgot the strife, and left for lands untold......
Life Threw Me a Curve - Standing at the plate of life, I glance out at the stands. The tool to make my fans all cheer, gripped tightly in my hands. The hurler looked me in the eye, ball held as to deceive. I'll bring my fans straight to their feet, if only I believe......
Life Threw Me A Curve - The Video Version
Hell Is Not That Hot - Livin large, me in charge, all about the game. I am great, no debate, don't believe in shame. Running wild with flower child, Makin' love, not war. Get high, get by, that's what life is for.....
Hell Is Not That Hot (Re-post) - The Video Version
One Thin Dime - There comes a time in each mans life when self is not enough. We wake one day, hopes gone astray, and look upon our stuff. Unsatisfied, we cry inside, we've wasted so much time. The things we have are meaningless, worth less than one thin dime.....
One Thin Dime - The Video Version
The Pain of Jabez - Pain is deep within my heart, it's been there quite some time. I used to try to kill this pain with cocaine, weed, and wine. But temporary fixes, just leave me high and dry, I feel the pain that Jabez felt in decades since gone by......
The Pain Of Jabez - The Video Version
My Personal Testimony:
He Saves Me From Me - "I think Jeremy Camp says it best when he sings how God blessed the broken road that led him to Jesus! When I hear those lyrics I cannot hold back the tears. I am so amazed that after everything this world has tossed at me thus far, I can abide in his love and experience a peace that truly is beyond understanding. I consider this text to be a prime example of just how much God loves us. All of us!...............
Today I Am Four Years Old - It was 4 years ago today, almost to the minute, that God spoke the words contained in Proverbs 3:5-6 straight to my heart. I was lying on a concrete floor in a homeless shelter broken, busted, homeless, helpless, and hopeless. The cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things had choked out every fiber of the life I thought I once had. The devil had stolen, killed, and was on the verge of destroying.

Blogs Of Encouragement:
You've Got A Friend - If the sky high above you, should turn dark and full of clouds. And that old north wind should begin to blow. Keep your head together and call my name out loud and soon I will be knocking upon your door.
Let's Get Happy - If we are deficient in joy, then we will also be deficient in strength. And, if we are deficient in strength, then we are likely to fall in the day of adversity.
Get Your Hopes Up - How many of you grew up being told "don't get your hopes up"? You had been planning, asking, and or hoping for something you really wanted. Maybe it was a trip to summer camp, or a new bicycle. Maybe you wanted to go to a Christian school or play in the band. Maybe you just wanted to have more time with your dad. How often, after expressing your desire for things such as these, were you told, "don't get your hopes up"?
Keep Yourself in God's Love - God, who is Love, and who is Spirit, is omnipresent. He's everywhere, all the time. If we are feeling separated from His love, it's not because he is holding it back. He's not sitting up on his throne with his arms crossed waiting until you pray just the right words, or pay your tithes, or live a perfectly Holy life.
God is Our Friend - Are you at peace? I mean really at peace? How do you react when trouble comes your way? Do you panic? Do you suffer from anxiety? Are you filled with worry and doubt? Do you feel a need to constantly be entertained? Do you seek comfort from a bottle or a pill? More than likely this is directly related to the fact that you do not have peace with God!
It's Tuesday Morning - It's Tuesday morning. You just woke up. The last four days are like a fog to you. Friday you got paid. You remember cashing your check. You remember stopping by the liquor store for a bottle of wine. After that, things get a little blurry.
Miscellaneous:
Happy Deathday - Some of you folks reading this are my so called "friends". Yet some of you who might be reading this know absolutely nothing about me. In either case, you are reading this because tomorrow is my birthday. At least tomorrow is known as my birthday. I would not be writing this blog if that were not the case.
The Heart is Connected to The Tongue - I get some flack sometimes for talking about how much power lies within our confessions. Let me say that I understand where you are coming from on that. The so-called "Word Of Faith" movement really put a bad taste in some peoples mouths and took the truths in that regard way too far.
Occupy Till I Come - One of the dictionary definitions of the word occupy is to hold your position or your possession. Yes, there are times when we need to fight off lies from the enemy. And we have the responsibility of binding and loosing, and we are to resist the devil, but I think sometimes we get way too carried away with spiritual warfare. Sometimes, the most spiritual thing you can do, is to simply stand.
Naked In The Garden - The Other Garden - The Garden I am speaking of in today's blog is not the Garden of Eden, yet it is the Garden of Gethsemane. There are some incredible nuggets of insight in the passages that describe the instance right before the crucifixion when Jesus went to pray. The way this incredible event is described in the book of John, to me only proves to exemplify the absolute and undeniable truth that Jesus is THE GREAT "I AM".
Believe When You Pray - So many times we offer prayers to our God and it seems like we get nothing in return. Silence is what we hear. There are so many reasons why this occurs that I can't even begin to offer all of my opinions. One reason however is that I believe we often ask God for things He has already given us.
God's View Of Those Who Gossip - You see, gossip is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit. Did you notice that Paul calls it "corrupt communication"? This phrase comes from the Greek word phaulos, which refers to something that stinks or to something that is rotting, such as meat that is full of maggots. This kind of communication is dead, decaying, and it stinks. It is offensive to the Spirit of God and it grieves Him.
Recycle That Tree - It's been several years since I brought a Christmas tree into my home and decorated it. It's not that I think there is something wrong with it, it's just that I personally don't celebrate Christmas in that traditional fashion any longer. I want to remind you, if you have still not removed your tree from your home, by now I am certain that it has become dry and brittle, and because of that, it is an extreme fire hazard, My advice would be to get that tree out of your home and into a recycle center ASAP!
Sometimes We Must Rewind - I think it is safe to say that each and every one of us have certain events and or periods of our lives that we would like to keep swept under the rug forever. I know that this is certainly true of my own life. Many of us tend to use verses like Philippians 3:13 and attempt to "forget those things which are behind".
Charitoo - During some recent studies related to the Christmas story I came across a phrase used in the KJV which we frequently hear used today amongst saints. That phrase is "highly favoured". How often do we hear others say, "I am blessed and highly favoured"?
Go Fly A Kite - Billy Graham once said, "Becoming a Christian is the work of a moment; being a Christian is the work of a lifetime". How very true.
The Perfect Blog - All praise, honor, and glory go out to you my King. Your words have touched, and will continue to touch our lives in a way in which there is no other. Your words are Spirit, and they are Life. You my Lord, only you Jesus, have left with us 66 books containing what will always and forever be, The Perfect blog!
Go Tell It On The Mountain - Praise God for Jesus! At His birth a multitude of heavenly hosts were praising God and shouting "Glory to God in the highest"The reason they were praising God was because now, finally, the war between God and man was over. The enmity that had long since stood between the Creator and His creation had once and for all been eradicated.
Authority - Trying to grasp the fullness of the authority that has been granted unto us can indeed prove to be a little bit mind-boggling. I am still in the process of renewing my mind in that area and making every effort to wrap my peanut-sized brain around that truth. But truth it is. We have authority over this earthly realm and I honestly believe that God fully expects us to operate in that authority.
Just Men Made Perfect - 1 John 4:17 says that as Jesus is, so are we, in this world. Do you believe that? Well, that's what the bible says. But without an understanding of who you are in the spirit you will never grasp the truth that we who are joined to the Lord are one spirit. One, as in to the exclusion of another.
The Case For A Creator - Lee Strobel's Movie in its entirety - Parts 1 through 7
A "Smokin' Good Time - The police and fire department came knocking on my door. Here's a little poem that explains why.
Your Sins are Forgiven - Rise Up and Walk - A video clip of the man who was lowered through the roof and healed.
Are You Sozo? - The Greek word that was translated as "saved" in the New Testament is the word "Sozo" In light of that, lets look at Romans 10:9 one more time: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SOZO." The word Sozo was used 110 times in the KJV. Here's what the word Sozo means and includes......
Flesh Conscious - One of the areas of my life which I strive to grow in is my new identity. Not my short-term identity, as in who my parents were, or their parents, or even theirs. It's not the color of my skin or what state I was born in. It's not whether I am a democrat or a republican. And it's not even my long-term identity, as in who I originally came from, which really was either Adam or a drunken sailor, Noah. But what I aim to get a greater revelation of is my eternal identity. In other words, who I am in Christ.
Communicating Faith - We are communicators, amen? The last time I checked this site's stats, there have been 286,102 blogs posted. Praise God! And then if you take into consideration all of the comments, messages, and memos, that's an awful lot of communication. What exactly is it that we are all trying to communicate? Faith
Angry At Evil - Anger is a God-given emotion. However, there is a right and a wrong use of that emotion. Satan didn’t create anger. Satan has never created anything. All he can do is take something that God created for good and pervert its true purpose and turn it into evil.
999 Trees - Let's assume, for the purpose of discussion, that God had created 1,000 luscious fruit bearing trees and placed Adam & Eve in the middle of them. And the only stipulation was to avoid one of the trees in the middle of the Garden. That would mean they had full and complete access to 999 of the other trees. What if Satan had rephrased his question?
Justification Comes Through The Old Covenant - Am I trying to say that we are justified by keeping the commandments of Old Testament Law? Of course not. That was not the original covenant. In fact, the Law was not given until 430 years after God made His promise with Abraham. And the Law was really just an addendum to the original promise. And an original contract cannot be annulled by an addendum. So what was that promise?
24-Hour Turnaround - God told us to speak to our mountains. Not tell Him about the mountain, but speak to the mountain. These mountains are literally any problems or obstacles that we are facing. God says that anything that is not producing life for us we are to curse it. That includes all sickness, disease, poverty, depression, anger, bitterness, loneliness, sadness, addictions, and on and on and on.
Out Of Order - All of creation cries out with an invisible cry, longing to be returned to the state in which they were designed to dwell. You can see this in the sad eyes of a puppy dog, or the squinted gaze of a cat perched in a window, longing for that which once was. You hear in the loud cracks of thunder that rumble the earth or fierce waves of the sea as they crash violently against a barrier wall. You can also see it by the fact that entire species of plants become extinct, extreme changes in weather patterns, or perhaps as a fallen star shoots across the sky. Everything is completely out of order.
As Your Soul Prospers - As I talked briefly about in Spirit, Soul and Body, our soul consists of our mind, will and emotions. In light of that subject, I want to post tonight about prosperity. No, I am not asking you to sow a financial seed into my life, although you are most welcome to do that if you so desire. What I want to talk about is how to make every area of your life prosper.
An Open Book Test - God gave us a free will. He also gave us authority over this earthly realm. I disagree with those that say that nothing happens that God doesn't cause to happen, or at least permit to happen. I disagree that God is 100% sovereign and nothing happens outside of His will. God gave us choices to make.
The Integrity Of His Word - Everything in this world is held together by the power and integrity of God's Word. God not only will not, but cannot ever break one of His promises. If he ever alters one thing that He has said, then the world would fall apart.
Who Made Satan? - So what if Lucifer was still in his perfect anointed state when God sent him to the earth? Is it possible that the transgression did not happen until after the creation of Adam? Could it be that God's plan was to send Lucifer as a ministering spirit for them?
The Other Side Of Pride - For most people, we think of pride as the self perspective that we are better than others, or that our importance or superiority is much greater than that of others. In other words, it's thought that being prideful means to be stuck-up or arrogant. But as I think on these things it leads me to the idea that being prideful is really about being self-centered. It's all about us.
The Great "I AM" - During my reading last night I stumbled upon a little sumpin' sumpin' that I want to share with you today. As many times as I have read the following passage, I missed one of the key points. Isn't it strange how we can just read right over something time and time again, and then all of a sudden it hits us? Don't you just love the way the Word speaks to us? That's why it is The Living Word. Amen.
Do We Look For Another? - Is belief the same thing as faith? I don't 'believe' it is. The word says we were each given "the" measure of faith. In Matthew 17 we are shown how the disciples could not cure the boy who was an epileptic. Why? Was it from a lack of faith? No. It was from their unbelief.
Thank God for Death - How many of you would agree that death can be a blessing? Think about it. Life isn't easy. Life can be very painful. Life, on this earth, is not God's greatest.
How far is the East from the West? - East does not meet West and West does not meet East!
