My 15 yr. old nephew, DJ, died Tuesday from a ruptured spleen and went home to see Jesus. I just want to say THANK YOU to all who prayed for DJ and my sisters family. They are learning to live a day at a time without DJ there in the home. This has been a time when prayers were really needed. The Dept. of Family and Children Services were called in to investigate DJ's death and they treated my sister and her husband as if they were criminals and had caused his death! They were called down to talk to the police and the young boy who was with DJ when he collapsed was also called in to talk with the police. Of course they have a job to do but it was so hard to lose a child and then be treated as if you had done something to cause his death! They quickly found there was no cause for an investigation but this was something that I wish she had not had to go through. Job 19:25 But I know there is someone in heaven who will come at last to my defense. My sister has so much faith. She accepted his death, knowing DJ was saved and had gone to be with Jesus, and believes that the Lord will use DJ's death to reach more young people and knows how much this would mean to DJ. DJ had a MySpace page, as all the youngsters do, and they are always taking surveys and such and on one survey DJ took the question was "Who would you most like to meet?" DJ's answer was Jesus! 2Co 5:1 For we know that when this tent we live in---our body here on earth---is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever. John 14:2 There are many rooms in my Father's house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. DJ got his wish. So many of the children wrote about that in his memorial book and said they were happy he is with Jesus face to face and that they hope to see him in heaven later. You never know until something like this happens, how many people one young boy can touch. Col 1:5 When the true message, the Good News, first came to you, you heard about the hope it offers. So your faith and love are based on what you hope for, which is kept safe for you in heaven. DJ's funeral procession was over 2 miles long. We were all stunned to see so many people in attendance! While we will miss him deeply, it gives us strength to know that his short life affected so many. Deu 30:19 I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God's blessing and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life. DJ did. Again, thank you all so much for your prayers. Janet

| My nephew DJ's spleen burst and the doctors don't know why. He has had over 38 units of blood and numerous units of plasma to try to get it to clot. He has undergone 2 surgeries and has a third to go through to remove the packing that was put in to try to help stop the bleeding. His blood pressure is stable now and his platlete count is rising. We are very grateful for that. Please pray for him and his parents as the waiting is long and the not knowing is agony. My sister's family are Christians and DJ knows the Lord. Thank you in advance. I will try to keep ya'll updated.

Well, I guess the Thanksgiving dinner at church was a success! It was like the loaves and the fishes cause we didn't run out of anything. The more folks ate the more there was left! I felt like I took home as much as I brought and everyone ate all they could and then some. I was in charge of cooking the turkey and ham for the dinner and my hubby was helping. He was to smoke the turkey and I was to bake the ham. Sounds easy right? Ordinarily it would be but halfway through baking the ham and a turkey breast (for those who don't like smoked turkey) my oven quit! This being at 2am! Of course my hubby had retired and said to wake him if I needed anything so here I go and wake him up to help me get the ham and turkey breast transferred to the grill so it could finish cooking. All this time me saying "well, I knew the Lord has a sense of humor." So we get the meat on the grill, stoke it back up and head back inside. My hubby goes back to bed and I sit up the rest of the night feeding the fire and watching tv. So now I'm trying to figure how I'm going to get this huge pan of dressing cooked and ready for dinner without a oven and the grill is full so I can't use it. So I figure I'll get to the church early and put the dressing on to cook there. So that's what I did and it was done on time. So everything worked out. Well when some of the ladies heard what happened they were asking wasn't I worried that I wouldn't be able to pull it off so I just had to go and remind them that "with God, all things are possible." so I just trusted Him and it turned out fine. The only thing we ran short on was pillows and blankets so everyone could take a nap afterwards. LOL! Well I got to thinking about how worry is a lack of faith in the Lord and disobedient to what He says. Php 4:6 Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. 1Pe 3:14 But even if you should suffer for doing what is right, how happy you are! Do not be afraid of anyone, and do not worry. So even when it seems like everything is going wrong just keep the faith and don't waste time on worry cause the Lord has better things you can do. If you are worried start praising Him for all you have and your family and friends and after while you will be so busy giving thanks that you will have forgotten to worry. Luk 12:25 Can any of you live a bit longer by worrying about it? Luk 12:26 If you can't manage even such a small thing, why worry about the other things? Luk 12:27 Look how the wild flowers grow: they don't work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers. Luk 12:28 It is God who clothes the wild grass---grass that is here today and gone tomorrow, burned up in the oven. Won't he be all the more sure to clothe you? What little faith you have! Luk 12:29 "So don't be all upset, always concerned about what you will eat and drink. Luk 12:30 (For the pagans of this world are always concerned about all these things.) Your Father knows that you need these things. Luk 12:31 Instead, be concerned with his Kingdom, and he will provide you with these things. Luk 12:32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the Kingdom. So the moral of this story is we should do as the Lord says DON'T WORRY-BE HAPPY!

Well it's Chitlin Festival time! There are all sorts of good things going on at the festival. Greased pig chases, old car shows, mud races, arts and crafts and of course CHITLINS! If you don't know what chitlins are they are the large intestines of the hog. They are cleaned out real good, boiled, seasoned, then cut into small pieces and served along with greens, baked mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, fried chicken and cornbread. There's just one thing you have to know about chitlins, if you don't clean 'em good you won't want to eat them. And they will make the house stink when they cook. Guess that's two things. ;o) You have to really clean 'em inside and out to make them good to eat. If you only partially clean them they won't be good. Reminds me of Christians. When we become Christians we start a process of cleaning out the garbage we carry on the inside. We keep cleaning up our insides as we grow in Christ. This seems to be a lifelong process. As we clean out the garbage we become clean in spirit and thought. We become pleasant to be around and others welcome our presence. We should treat our lives like chitlins. Get a good cleaning from the inside out so we won't be the stinkers we used to be. 2Ti 2:21 Those who make themselves clean from all those evil things, will be used for special purposes, because they are dedicated and useful to their Master, ready to be used for every good deed.
Blessings to you.
