HISTORY
Our Savior’s Church, located in Broussard, Louisiana was born in the
hearts of Pastor Jacob and Michelle Aranza and was launched in October
of 1998. Within a few months the church had grown to 300 in attendance.
In 2000, Our Savior's Church began construction on the new sanctuary and educational building.
By this time, the average attendance was at 450. Through a series of miraculous events, we were
able to complete our current facilities on Father’s Day of 2001.
In 2002, Our Savior’s Church experienced still another influx of growth. Attendance was reaching
1,100 and we began making preparations for future growth. Part of this preparation included pastoral
and staff additions and in 2004 God added to our leadership team in a tremendous way. It was also in
2004 that Master's Commission became a part of our growing ministry family
And now in 2006, we will complete the next phase of growth with the completion of our Student
Ministry Center and Children’s Ministry Center.
It’s hard to believe that less than eight years ago Our Savior’s Church was just a thought in the
imagination of God. Today, attendance is at 1,500 and we are serving the Acadiana area with a
leadership team committed to fulfilling the Great Commission. These numbers represent not just
growth and numbers but lives that are being touched and transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
VISION
Gather, Equip, and Mobilize
The purpose of Our Savior's Church is to gather, equip, and mobilize
the people of Acadiana in order to fulfill the Great Commission. Gather
Our Savior’s Church exists to gather the people of Acadiana so they may experience the fullness of a
relationship with God and the rewards of relationships within the body of Christ.
Equip
Our Savior’s Church has a passion for equipping God’s people so they may discover, be trained in,
and walk in their God given purposes as a part of the body of Christ.
Mobilize
Our Savior’s Church mobilizes believers so they may fulfill their role in the Great Commission.
CORE VALUES
- 1. Lordship
- Lordship is knowing that Jesus Christ is Lord (Revelation 19:16). It is with our whole hearts that we must choose
to submit to His will. This is the starting point of the Christian faith and the foundation of all
spiritual growth (Acts 2:38).
|
- 2. Discipleship
- Jesus has called us to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).
We are committed to raising up faithful disciples of Christ.
|
- 3. Prayer
- Prayer
is our direct connection to God. Our communication with God is vital to
our spiritual growth and survival (Philippians 4:6).
|
- 4. Worship
- Worship is an outward expression of respect and adoration to God. We worship Him because He is the
Creator and Lord of all things (Revelation 4:11).
|
- 5. Family
- God has called us all to be a spiritual family (1 Corinthians 4:15). Family is the foundation and
validation of all ministry (1 Timothy 3:1-5). We need our spiritual family if we are
to fulfill the purpose of God (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
|
- 6. Leadership Development
- Leadership is not only for those born with the gift, but is also taught. Faithfulness paves the way
to leadership (Luke 16:10). What we learn, we are to commit to faithful men who will in turn teach
others (II Timothy 2:2).
|
- 7. Evangelism
- God's heart is to reach the lost (II Peter 3:9). Church growth should primarily take place through
evangelism (Romans 15:20). We should always look outside of ourselves to reach others.
