Having an intimate, personal relationship with God is a very wonderful thing. The way we develope that relationship is by spending time with God. That's what I want to show you. That by spending "quality" time with God not only our panic will go but you're life will be better over all. First we must prepare ourselves to commune with Him. I would suggest finding a quiet place in which you are comfortable. This is not about kneeling down and saying words, althought if kneeling is your position, kneel. Some friends I know sit in a comfy chair, some light a candle, others like Christian music. I like to go in my bathroom which is in my bedroom to spend time with God other times I lay down. My bedroom is my quiet place in the house. So I go there, lay across the bed and spend time with my Savior. If we spend time with The Lord, He will spend time with Us. I'll close my eyes for awhile and just worship Him. Thanking Him for all His goodness. Saying His name over in adoration to the Lord. Spending time with God can take various forms, thats why I didn't call this step "Prayer"! It is much, much more that that. I ask God to let His Spirit lead me and guide me to where or what He wants to show or teach me. I always have my Bible handy in case I feel led to read the Word. I've had times with God when I have just cried to Him telling Him of all my hurts. Other times I've had with the Lord, I would listen to music and just praise Him. What I'm trying to get accross to you is that relationship between God and man must be a give and take. It should not just be us asking God for things and thats that. I hear everyone asking "how long and how often do I have to do this"? Time limits, so important with our busy lifestyles!! Ok, start with at least ten minutes once a day. Such a small amount time for our God. But start with ten and if you can go longer, praise God!! Once you start doing this you'll realize that the time slips away and becomes so important that you won't be able to do without it. Soon you'll find yourself "communing" with God all through the day. ...he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. Psalm1:2 Just as God knows us, we need to know Him. That way is developing an intimate relationship with Him. We need to include God in EVERY aspect of our life!! If we will let Him lead us and guide us in our life and the things we do we will be free from panic. When we're in tune with God and what He wants for our panic to flee. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of God, that we may find mercy, grace, and well-timed help, coming just when we need it. Hebrews 4:16
Look over your schedule for the day and decide when and where you can take time out to spend with God.
