Pastor Vernon began in the preaching ministry in September of 1993 at the age of 15. "I felt God's hand upon my life and realized that He was calling me then into the Pastoral ministry." Pastor Vernon has been blessed to have been led to Christ by his mother, Janet, nurtured by his family, and exposed to men of God his entire life. He is a continuing education student at Colorado Christian University.
In 1997 he was ordained and publicly set a part for service in the Pastoral Ministry. In 1998 he became the Youth Pastor of the Kinship Baptist Church. Pastor Vernon was formally and publicly installed in April of 2003 as the 2nd Senior Pastor of the Kinship Church. He followed in the footsteps of hs grandfather, Pastor Eugene Todd, who founded Kinship and served for twenty-four years.
Pastor Vernon holds a deep and abiding passion to reach people as early as we can to prevent "sin cycles" in families. "I believe that God has always required a generation to be concerned with and active in passing His truth to the next generation. My life experience has proven to me that unless we do that, raise and prepare the next generation, we are not fully answering the call of God."
 Pastor Vernon & Lady Jaymie have been married since July of 1998. God has blessed them with four beautiful children; Savanna, Nathan, Caleb, and Lily.
Lady Jaymie is a true help meet to Pastor Vernon. "I thank God for her daily. She is an awesome woman of God, a great wife, and loving mother. She was perfectly shaped by God for me," says Pastor Vernon.
The home is also busy with two dogs, Bronco & Nugget and the family turtle Eve.
Pastor Vernon recently celebrated his 30th birthday! “I am grateful to God for what He has done, is doing, and will do as we continue to be obedient to His Word. I expect great things because He is a great God!” |
