Blessings, y'all. My name is Beverly and I was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio a really long time ago. Marriage brought me to Alabama in 1984. My husband is Billy, but these days he's better known as "Poppy." I have three lovely children--Patricia (Fish), the worshiper, Ginny, the rebel, and Joey, the soldier and drummer. My son-in-law Aaron has been a blessing to this family for a long time, and my son-in-law John is a real character! Sometime next year I'll have a daughter-in-law, beautiful Leann. I have three precious grandchildren, my Sweetie Punkin, Jorja, and my Little Dude, William (Will), and Penni-Poo.
I have a BS degree in secondary education/language arts and a master's degree in English. Over the course of the last 30 years I have taught everything from Kindergarten to Freshman Comp. 101 and 102 except for 5th grade. Classic literature, particularly the epics, is my passion. I also love anything at all to do with The Lord of the Rings and have read the books dozens of times before the movies ever came out (but I do love the movies, too). Yes, I'm a geek.
I love studying the Word of God! I love my family and my church family. I love writing poetry, short stories and songs. My hobbies are cooking and baking. I play a little guitar--enough to have fun and worship in my time alone with God. I have a collection of knives and swords, most of which are replicas from LOTR.
My life verse is Psalm 63:7: Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings.
