"For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, "
1 John 3:1 See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, we are God's children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
1 John 3:3 And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
1 John 3:4 Every one who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
1 John 3:5 You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.
1 John 3:6 No one who abides in him sins; no one who sins has either seen him or known him.
1 John 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who does right is righteous, as he is righteous.
1 John 3:8 He who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:9 No one born of God commits sin; for God's nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God.
1 John 3:10 By this it may be seen who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not do right is not of God, nor he who does not love his brother.
1 John 3:11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
1 John 3:12 and not be like Cain who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous.
1 John 3:13 Do not wonder, brethren, that the world hates you.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.
1 John 3:15 Any one who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
1 John 3:16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:17 But if any one has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth.
1 John 3:19 By this we shall know that we are of the truth, and reassure our hearts before him
1 John 3:20 whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.
1 John 3:21 Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
1 John 3:22 and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
1 John 3:23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.
1 John 3:24 All who keep his commandments abide in him, and he in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

Be assured that while we are to love one another, The biblical definition of love is far different than the world's definition for love. Love is far more intense and far more impacting than what the world passes off for love. God so loved the world that he gave. The worlds definition has more to do with what I get or get to take. Real love is hard work. It takes standing p to what is wrong even when doing so put you in the dog house. Real love seeks the best for someone else even at the cost of your own life. A mother will give her self for her children not because they deserve it but because she loves them. True love is sacrificial. True love is what John Calls for us to demonstrate toward one another. It may not be convenient, but it is the right thing to do if you love someone.

How many problems could be solved by adhering to this one verse...

The kind of love that is being spoken of here is a divine love, the type that Christ has for us. We cannot even show this sort of love to anyone without the power of the Holy Spirit! This love calls us to love our enemies and treat them with love and kindness even when they are unkind to us!
I don't know about you, but that is an extremly hard thing for me to do!! But you see God is always pulling us out of our "comfort zones" and asking us to come up alittle bit higher! He will give us the power to do what He asks of us if we let Him. And this is how the unsaved around us will know that we posess something different than they have ever seen, and just maybe they will want that "thing" for themselves!! Then we can share our wonderful Jesus with them!!
Thank You Father God for Your divine love for me, please help me to show Your love to others in all I say and do. :)

Deus Caritas Est - God is Love. For it is also written, "Love your neighbours as yourself" (Lk. 10:27) Everyone of us is created by our Father in heaven, who loves us all constantly and equally. If we are to love the Lord our God, let us also love His creations - our fellow men - and if we are to love one another, let us deliver to them the care and help they need.

Let us "love our enemies" (Mt. 5:44) as well. Only those who love shall be loved in return, and if this cycle goes on in every being, hatred shall forever be purged from this world. Hatred does not punish our adversaries, but only ourselves. Love does not only convert our enemies, but also our souls. Let us have faith in our Fathers judgment, while we pass no judgment of our own; instead, love everyone.

Pax vobiscum!

I think this is the hardest message for all of us to choke down, because we are all inclined towards being self centered and forget those around us!

OH HOW THIS VERSE STICKS OUT,BUT HOW MANY OF US LOVE OUR NEIGHBOR AS WE LOVE OURSELVES,I;M AFRAID NOT TOO MANY ,SO WHAT DOES THIS SAY FOR US,? CHRIST LOVED ALL, THAT HE WAS WILLING TO LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR ALL OF US,NOW THAT LOVE......THE WORLD WOULD;NT BE THE WAY IT IS IF WE ALL HAD A LITTLE BIT MORE LOVE IN US....AMEN

Amen.

Corinthians 4:18

Yes, this is so true!!!!!!!!

THIS IS MY COMMANDMENT THAT WE LOVE ONE AND OTHER THAT OUR JOY MAY BE WHOLE.....

God truly has a way of speaking to my heart through His Word. He reminds me everyday of the right thing and what I should do even in life's most difficult circumstances...I guess that means even when I don't really want to...

Teach me oh Lord how to love as You love so that I may love all like You...in Jesus name.....amen

Love -- love for God -- love for others -- love for self! Why is "love" God's message from the beginning? Because, God is Love!! Thank you, Lord, for Loving us, even from the beginning!!
