Acts 1:1 In the first book, O The-oph'ilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach,
Acts 1:2 until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
Acts 1:3 To them he presented himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days, and speaking of the kingdom of God.
Acts 1:4 And while staying with them he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, "you heard from me,
Acts 1:5 for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
Acts 1:6 So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"
Acts 1:7 He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Sama'ria and to the end of the earth."
Acts 1:9 And when he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
Acts 1:10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,
Acts 1:11 and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
Acts 1:12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away;
Acts 1:13 and when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James.
Acts 1:14 All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
Acts 1:15 In those days Peter stood up among the brethren (the company of persons was in all about a hundred and twenty), and said,
Acts 1:16 "Brethren, the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David, concerning Judas who was guide to those who arrested Jesus.
Acts 1:17 For he was numbered among us, and was allotted his share in this ministry.
Acts 1:18 (Now this man bought a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.
Acts 1:19 And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their language Akel'dama, that is, Field of Blood.)
Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, 'Let his habitation become desolate, and let there be no one to live in it'; and 'His office let another take.'
Acts 1:21 So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
Acts 1:22 beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us--one of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection."
Acts 1:23 And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsab'bas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthi'as.
Acts 1:24 And they prayed and said, "Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show which one of these two thou hast chosen
Acts 1:25 to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside, to go to his own place."
Acts 1:26 And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthi'as; and he was enrolled with the eleven apostles.

GOODMORNING FAMILIES AND FRIENDS - ACTS 1:8 "BUT YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU, AND YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES IN JERUSALEM AND IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARIA AND TO THE END OF THE EARTH.'" *WHAT A PROFOUND STATEMENT INDEED. LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THIS VERSE IS TELLING US - WELL, WE ALL NEED AND WANT POWER, AND JESUS PROMISED IN ACTS 1:8 THAT "YOU SHALL RECIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU" I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY PERSON WHO HOPES AND PRAYS FOR WEAKNESS AND INABILITY, BUT GOD DESIRES FOR US TO BE POWERFUL, LIVE AND ENJOY POWER-PACKED LIVES, YOU KNOW, LIVES THAT INCLUDES VICTORY OVER satan AND ALL his WICKED PLOTS AND SCHEMES. SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS A PROCESS. WE RELEASE AREAS OF OUR LIVES TO THE LORD LITTLE BY LITTLE AND THE MORE WE RELEASE TO HIM, THE BETTER OUR LIVES BECOME. TRUST GOD AND KNOW FOR CERTAIN THAT EVERYTHING HE ASKS US TO DO IS FOR OUR GOOD AND WILL MAKE OUR LIVES BETTER. YOU SEE, THE HOLY SPIRIT ENABLES US TO BE WHAT GOD WANTS US TO BE, I NOTICED YEARS AGO THAT ACTS 1:8 STATES THAT THE PEOPLE RECEIVED POWER TO "BE" WITNESSES, NOT POWER TO "DO" WITNESSING. "DOING" WITNESSING IS GOOD, BUT WE MUST ALSO "BE" WITNESSES FOR JESES IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES. GOD'S DEEPEST DESIRE FOR EACH OF US IS THAT WE BECOME LIKE JESUS IN ALL OUR THOUGHTS, ATTITUDES, WORDS AND DEED.
YOU SEE FRIENDS, WE OFTEN MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BEING OVERLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN OUR CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN OUR PRIORITY SHOULD BE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN OUR HEARTS. GOD IS MORE INTERESTED IN CHANGING US THAN OUR CIRCUMSTANCES. TODAY, INVITE THE LORD TO HAVE HIS WAY IN OUR US AND OUR LIVES AND WE WILL EXPERIENCE AN INCREASE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT'S POWER. "WE SHALL RECEIVE POWER" GOD BLESS!! IA MANUIA LENEI ASO I LE FA'ATASI MAI O LE AGAGA PAIA E TAITAI'INA I TATOU I LONA MANA MANUMALO. ONA O LE SUAFA O JESU LO TATOU ALII MA LO TATOU FAAOLA, AMENE. |

12-13-2010 P.M. Jesus told His disciples that they would tell people of all nations about Him. But first they had to wait for the Holy Spirit. God has important work for you to do for Him, but you must do it by the Power of the Holy Spirit, not in your own strength. It is easy to be in a hurry to get on with the job, even if ti means running ahead of God. But sometimes, waiting is a part of God's plan for you. Are you waiting and listening for God's complete instructions, or are you running ahead of His plans for you? You need God's timing and power to be truly effective. Rest well tonight. God Bless, Chaplain Danny |

THE "DUNAMIS" OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
After Jesus accomplished the purpose of his coming to the world by dying on the cross, by being buried and rising from the dead on the third day, He appeared and taught about the kingdom of God to over 500 people. At last his disciples asked him "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" The Lord responded them saying that it was not given for them to know the time or dates the Father has set in his own times.
Sometimes we spend our time arguing and discussing about things that are not our concern or things not given to us. We should take note of what is given to us and what is not and then serve the Lord. What is given to us is the power of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!!
The Lord said "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you...” (Acts 1:8)
Our Lord Jesus said “You will receive power." As receiving our Lord Jesus in to our hearts gives us the authority to be children of God, receiving the Holy Spirit gives us power.
As natural energy is required to do a natural work likewise, God's power is a must to do God's work.
Jesus used the Greek word “dunamis” for the word Power. Dunamis means ability, might, power and Strength. From the word dunamis we get three important words. We use this three important words in Science and Technology and the words are: dynamite, dynamo and dynamic.
Dynamite is an explosive used in mining Engineers to break to pieces hard rocks and Civil Engineers to make mountains level ground. The second meaning of dynamite could mean an attractive personality or agent of great change.
Dynamo is a machine that moves with fixed frequency and converts mechanical energy into steady flowing electrical power/energey.
Dynamic means energetic, forceful and something or somebody that moves things and brings change.
The power of the Holy Spirit works in our life and ministry as dynamite and dynamo to make His Work Very Dynamic through The body of Christ- the church.
