 Hebrews 4:12
Jump to another verse
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. "
Hebrews 4:1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest remains, let us fear lest any of you be judged to have failed to reach it.
Hebrews 4:2 For good news came to us just as to them; but the message which they heard did not benefit them, because it did not meet with faith in the hearers.
Hebrews 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall never enter my rest,'" although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Hebrews 4:4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way, "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works."
Hebrews 4:5 And again in this place he said, "They shall never enter my rest."
Hebrews 4:6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,
Hebrews 4:7 again he sets a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, "Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."
Hebrews 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later of another day.
Hebrews 4:9 So then, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God;
Hebrews 4:10 for whoever enters God's rest also ceases from his labors as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, that no one fall by the same sort of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:13 And before him no creature is hidden, but all are open and laid bare to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Hebrews 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

This is my favorite scripture. It keeps me focused because truth is forever.

Even the words you speak are alive. The words. Praise the Lord and watch what you say. people.

This is one of my favorites. God's Word is what gives us strength for the day, hope for tomorrow and the promise of a better World To Come.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

We all need a surgery.

my favorite bible verse

There is nothing hid from the Lord, for our lives are an open book. There for we worship in spirit and in truth, beholding the glory of the Lord in the face of Jesus Christ! For we are becoming His Living epistles known and read of all men..... shared by John Buth for the edification of the saints.

How great HE is.

Prais the Lord!!!

Soooo true. Just love this verse...

The WORD of GOD is the most powerful tool everybody must possess, nowadays. GOD speaks to us thru HIS WORD. And HIS words can only be found in the BIBLE. The WORD is so sharp that it cuts past excuses and defenses, and confronts us with its truth. That's why some people doesn't like to read the BIBLE because they are afraid of the truth and they don't want to be confronted, rebuked and disciplined by GOD thru HIS WORD and righteousness. Just like a Father that disciplines his son. THey are afraid that the evilness of their thoughts and wickedness of their hearts will be exposed before their very eyes. And so, GOD will only laugh at them when they are faced with many problems and trials in life.
As the Psalmist said: "but the LORD laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming" - Psalms 37:13
So, read the BIBLE now and let us pay attention to every advise that the LORD is teaching us so we cannot be over-ruled by the evil powers ruling this earth. GOD bless. ^_____^

I love this one!

I love the (AMP) version which states, ""And the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power; making active, operative, energizing and effective. It's sharper than any double edge sword, penetrating to the breath of life (soul), immortal (spirit) and to the joints and marrow of the deepest part of our very nature; exposing, sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart."

oh yeh

Very deep.

The Bible contains the mind of GOD, the state of man, the way of salvation...CHRIST is its grand subject...Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. : )

the KJV version says "For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword peircing even to the dividing assunder of soul and spirit and of the joint and marrow and is a diserner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." i dont know why i like this verse i just like it!!!

He is alive!!
