""But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, "
Luke 6:1 On a sabbath, while he was going through the grainfields, his disciples plucked and ate some heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands.
Luke 6:2 But some of the Pharisees said, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the sabbath?"
Luke 6:3 And Jesus answered, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:
Luke 6:4 how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those with him?"
Luke 6:5 And he said to them, "The Son of man is lord of the sabbath."
Luke 6:6 On another sabbath, when he entered the synagogue and taught, a man was there whose right hand was withered.
Luke 6:7 And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the sabbath, so that they might find an accusation against him.
Luke 6:8 But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Come and stand here." And he rose and stood there.
Luke 6:9 And Jesus said to them, "I ask you, is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?"
Luke 6:10 And he looked around on them all, and said to him, "Stretch out your hand." And he did so, and his hand was restored.
Luke 6:11 But they were filled with fury and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.
Luke 6:12 In these days he went out to the mountain to pray; and all night he continued in prayer to God.
Luke 6:13 And when it was day, he called his disciples, and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles;
Luke 6:14 Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew,
Luke 6:15 and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,
Luke 6:16 and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
Luke 6:17 And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases;
Luke 6:18 and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.
Luke 6:19 And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came forth from him and healed them all.
Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: "Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Luke 6:21 "Blessed are you that hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. "Blessed are you that weep now, for you shall laugh.
Luke 6:22 "Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man!
Luke 6:23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.
Luke 6:24 "But woe to you that are rich, for you have received your consolation.
Luke 6:25 "Woe to you that are full now, for you shall hunger. "Woe to you that laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.
Luke 6:26 "Woe to you, when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.
Luke 6:27 "But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Luke 6:29 To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from him who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt.
Luke 6:30 Give to every one who begs from you; and of him who takes away your goods do not ask them again.
Luke 6:31 And as you wish that men would do to you, do so to them.
Luke 6:32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
Luke 6:33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
Luke 6:34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the selfish.
Luke 6:36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
Luke 6:37 "Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;
Luke 6:38 give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back."
Luke 6:39 He also told them a parable: "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?
Luke 6:40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but every one when he is fully taught will be like his teacher.
Luke 6:41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
Luke 6:42 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.
Luke 6:43 "For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit;
Luke 6:44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorns, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush.
Luke 6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure produces evil; for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:46 "Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?
Luke 6:47 Every one who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like:
Luke 6:48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep, and laid the foundation upon rock; and when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
Luke 6:49 But he who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation; against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great."

There is no way to accomplish this unless one has the Holy Spirit living within his or her heart. America's Christians are facing an onslaught of ridicule and verbal persecution. They laugh and say it is just a crutch. Well, duh! He is my crutch because nothing good can I do on my own without Him. He is my Rock, my Salvation and my Saviour forevermore. We walk by faith and not by sight. Father, I pray my words would prick some hearts to at least search for the truth of the scriptures and turn from their wicked ways and acknowledge you as Lord and Saviour before it is eternally too late. Amen!

Hard to do...but with GOD all things are possible!

Pray for those who hurt you and cause you pain. Forgive them or at least ask God to forgive them; hate is corosive to YOUR soul. Doing good will prove an example of Christ and open a door for their souls. ♥

A kind word truns away a strong wrath.

It is not easy, but I can do everything through Jesus Christ who strengh me!!!Fil.4:13

I had a Text and Answer session with the youth group a couple of weeks ago. This scripture came up. These are the four things we are to do to overcome our enemies. Love them, do good to them, bless them and pray for them. This is how Jesus deals with enemies. Wow!!! God is so Awesome.

Thing of God! He always give condition that will make it crystal clear to an on looker that you have to be regenerated to fit in to his plan, that is why he said you can do nothing on your own, it is Gods that works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure, if not how can i love the one that hates me and do good to them. but now I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Yes you can too.

it's so easy to love those who love you back, but the true test is being able to love those who can't or won't recipricate it.

Luke 6:27

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

The Key to forgive! What Jesus told us He also showed us.

I believe in this soooo much! Thank GOD!! He gives us strength!!

LORD, fill my heart with your love. Have your way in me...

Well this verse just flys in the face of the way our world behaves! Anyone can love their friends and family, but to love our enemies, now that takes a supernatural love that is only possible through the Holy Spirit that indwells every child of God. The unsaved person is just not capable of the type of love that Jesus is speaking of here. This is not a love based on emotion, but is based on a matter of will to to what God has instructed us to do!
Our old nature wants to seek revenge on people when they wrong us, but this and many other verses in God's Word, instruct us to repay every wrong done to us with kindness, which totaly frustrates and confuses the watching world around us! Some may even ask why we behave this way.......then comes the opportunity to tell them of our Lord Jesus and His great love for them, and after all, that is what we are here for, yes?! :)

i pray that scripture almost every day,bcause we do have enemy,on our jobs, in our home, church,everywhere we go we have to love one another,do good to them who lie or persecute you,mistreat you, yes it is hard to do,but with God & his holy spirt, we can do it.

Always try and remember what you do will show in your chidren. They do as you do, say what you say. Your family will always be there for you no matter what come into your life. Thank GOD everyday for your friends, family and faith.

When you take on the Spirit of God then its not hard to love those who hate us, use us, or mistreat us. Do just as JESUS did on the CROSS, he ask his FATHER to FORGIVE...

It may be hard to do, but hating someone is not worth my soul in hell. I will pray for those who forsake me.

my Uncle learned this verse as a young boy and was constantly harassed because of his faith. He prayed for the five boys who beat him up and made fun of him. 40 years later he found out that they last of the group he had not heard about was ALSO a beleiver as were the other four. They all through the years gave thier lives to the Lord. When my Uncle heard he just cryed for joy at the Fathers amazing love.

when God speaks all i can say is AMEN!
