Numbers 23:19 |

"God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfil it?

Numbers 23:1 And Balaam said to Balak, "Build for me here seven altars, and provide for me here seven bulls and seven rams."
Numbers 23:2 Balak did as Balaam had said; and Balak and Balaam offered on each altar a bull and a ram.
Numbers 23:3 And Balaam said to Balak, "Stand beside your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps the LORD will come to meet me; and whatever he shows me I will tell you." And he went to a bare height.
Numbers 23:4 And God met Balaam; and Balaam said to him, "I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered upon each altar a bull and a ram."
Numbers 23:5 And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, "Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak."
Numbers 23:6 And he returned to him, and lo, he and all the princes of Moab were standing beside his burnt offering.
Numbers 23:7 And Balaam took up his discourse, and said, "From Aram Balak has brought me, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains: 'Come, curse Jacob for me, and come, denounce Israel!'
Numbers 23:8 How can I curse whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce whom the LORD has not denounced?
Numbers 23:9 For from the top of the mountains I see him, from the hills I behold him; lo, a people dwelling alone, and not reckoning itself among the nations!
Numbers 23:10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my end be like his!"
Numbers 23:11 And Balak said to Balaam, "What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have done nothing but bless them."
Numbers 23:12 And he answered, "Must I not take heed to speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?"
Numbers 23:13 And Balak said to him, "Come with me to another place, from which you may see them; you shall see only the nearest of them, and shall not see them all; then curse them for me from there."
Numbers 23:14 And he took him to the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
Numbers 23:15 Balaam said to Balak, "Stand here beside your burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder."
Numbers 23:16 And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, "Return to Balak, and thus shall you speak."
Numbers 23:17 And he came to him, and, lo, he was standing beside his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said to him, "What has the LORD spoken?"
Numbers 23:18 And Balaam took up his discourse, and said, "Rise, Balak, and hear; hearken to me, O son of Zippor:
Numbers 23:19 God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfil it?
Numbers 23:20 Behold, I received a command to bless: he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it.
Numbers 23:21 He has not beheld misfortune in Jacob; nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The LORD their God is with them, and the shout of a king is among them.
Numbers 23:22 God brings them out of Egypt; they have as it were the horns of the wild ox.
Numbers 23:23 For there is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel; now it shall be said of Jacob and Israel, 'What has God wrought!'
Numbers 23:24 Behold, a people! As a lioness it rises up and as a lion it lifts itself; it does not lie down till it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain."
Numbers 23:25 And Balak said to Balaam, "Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all."
Numbers 23:26 But Balaam answered Balak, "Did I not tell you, 'All that the LORD says, that I must do'?"
Numbers 23:27 And Balak said to Balaam, "Come now, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there."
Numbers 23:28 So Balak took Balaam to the top of Pe'or, that overlooks the desert.
Numbers 23:29 And Balaam said to Balak, "Build for me here seven altars, and provide for me here seven bulls and seven rams."
Numbers 23:30 And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

I love the context of this verse and what it reveals about the covenant relationship we have. Balak was doing everything he could to get Balaam to curse the Israelites. But nothing the enemy could do was able to get Balaam to say that God would curse his People. Now remember that this is the same stubborn, rebellious Israel that God later had to destroy. But NOTHING the enemy could do would cause God to do anything against His chosen nation. God was with them! (v21)
Even when Israel sinned it was discipline that they brought on themselves. But the enemy can do nothing to turn God against His People. The same is true for the church...(although we dont replace the Jews and that special relationship they have, but in the spiritual sense we are grafted into the spiritual blessings)
The promise from Jesus is that the Gates of Hell will not prevail against His church...not even for a moment! As the enemy accuses us before the face of God day and night, the accusations fall on God's deaf ears. For Chirst has paid for all my failings and shortcomings. And the same Christ is also transforming me to glorify God in all that He guides and provides for me to do.
In these great and precious promises, our God "is not a man that He should lie. He will not change his mind". His children are blessed, and never will God's curse fall on us for when God sees me, He sees His son.
What a blessed promise based on the neverchanging character of God! |

God does not lie or change His mind! The way Scripture is often interpreted today defies this fact. I praise God that there is only one message from Genesis to Revelation. It is one book with one message about salvation from sin. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Praise His holy and wonderful name. |

it is sad in a way if you read the rest, to see how man doubts God's orders or is not pleased with what God says, and trys to manipulate Gods words by going to different places or whatever to see if God will change His mind, WITHOUT realizing God is teaching him or her something. I encourage all of us to listen to what God says, and focus on what he could be teaching us instead it not being something we feel comfortable or satisfied with doing :) |

God is the creator...not a human being, His thoughts are not our thoughts, His ways are not our ways. He doesn't say one thing and do another....he doesn't lie...whatever God says you best to believe--it's going to happen (come to pass). |

Basically saying STOP DOUBTING HIM PERIOD !! he has promised us that he will take of everything, he is not like us who breaks promises he always holds up to his promises !! remember these here are 7 promises God has made for us
He has promised to supply every need we have. The Bible says: "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus". That's Phillipians 4:19. Now notice, God has obligated Himself only to the extent of our needs. That would include food, clothing, shelter, companionship, love, and salvation thru Jesus Christ. It would not include the multiplicity of luxuries that we have come to think of as needs.
God has promised that His grace is sufficient for us. (II Corinthians 12:9). in fact, He has made provision for our salvation by His grace through faith. Read Ephesians 2:8. It is through an obedient faith that we have access into the grace of God according to Romans 5:2.
God has promised that His children will not be overtaken with temptation. Instead, He assures us that a way of escape will be provided. This promise is recorded in I Corinthians 10:13. Jude wrote: "Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present your faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" (Jude v 24). Darius, King of the Medes, said to Daniel, "Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee" (Daniel 6:16). He did deliver Daniel from the den of lions.
God has promised us victory over death. He first resurrected Jesus by way of assuring our resurrection. Peter said: "This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we are all witnesses" (Acts 2:32). Paul wrote to the Corinthians: "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (I Corinthians 15:3,4). Later on he adds: "but thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through o |

When Jesus saved me and filled me with the true Holy Ghost, my life was given meaning and joy unspeakable. He has answered my prayers while I stood in amazment. There is NOTHING that is impossibe for my Jesus. He is true to His word and He will never fail. Even though I have, He is always there to help pick me up and set me back on my feet. I now live to bring glory to Him and live as His representative. I don't go anywhere that Jesus can't go with me. I don't ever want to be without Him. For without Him means eternal death and I want eternal life through Him that bled and died for me. I love Him so much and He has truly blessed my life. I look forward to seeing Him face to face one day and live forever with Him in that home He has prepared for His children. |
