Proverbs 4:14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil men.

Proverbs 4:24 Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
Proverbs 4:25 Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.
Proverbs 4:26 Take heed to the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure.
Proverbs 4:27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.

Guard your heart - with the breastplate of righteousness. There are a lot of ways to look at this - I know a lot of people will use this to reflect on purity, and having the wisdom to guard your heart from inappropriate relationships - and I think that's absolutely true, that's a context you can take from this, in terms of wisdom of the heart. But I guess since I'm in a different place in my life right now, married already with children, that's not the chord it strikes with me. Instead it feels to me like a call to guard myself, to guard the heart I've given to Jesus. A heart given to Jesus is purified, and it shouldn't be corrupted by evil choices and words...which is what the rest of this chapter is getting at:

24 Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.

26 Make level paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.

27 Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

When my heart falters from its path, when I fail to "keep my eye on the prize," (Jesus, of course), that's when I see myself slipping with my conduct. And it's so easy to keep slip-sliding away from the person you've asked God to help you be.

The idea of putting on the armour of God - it's not so much, most of the time, to go out and WAGE war - it's to defend against the onslaught that's always coming at us, tempting us off the lighted path. Guard your heart, and protect what Jesus paid so dearly to wash clean.

And if you don't feel you can do it alone - don't be afraid. We have another verse that talks about guarding your heart...only this time it's God's peace doing it for you:

Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

this is one of my favorites... " Gaurd your heart for it controls all that you do..." your heart is only safe with God and only he can give you the full benefits of a perfect love

Proverbs 4:23-27 Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Take heed to the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.

It so true, every issue in our life is started from our hearts. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

God gives us what we need when we need it, He gave us our precious heart let's use it for his will!!!!!

Romans 12:1
"I urge you, brothers, in veiw of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - which is your spiritual worship."
This verse in Romans goes right along with our verse from Proverbs, they both instruct us on how we are to think and act. God wants to be the Master of our heart, mouth, lips, eyes, and feet. The heart speaks of the inner life, the mind, motives, and desires that we have. This is where everything else starts, the Bible says "As a man thinketh, so is he." So we are to keep our thoughts clean and holy b/c everything we do stems from there!!! :)

THE HEART IS THE FOUNDATION AND EPICENTER(FOCAL POINT) OF OUR BEINGS. WHAT EVER IS HAPPENING IN THE HEART AFFECTS EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES.FROM THE HEART FLOW LIFE, LOVE AND COMPASSION. FROM THE HEART FLOWS DEATH, HATE, SELFISHNESS, EVIL AND VENEGANCE.
WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN OUR HEARTS EXPERIENCE CHANGE WHICH IS EVIDENT IN OUR ACTIONS, ATTITUDE AND ASSOCIATIONS. WE CANNOT EXPRESS OR EXPERIENCE WHAT IS THE OPPOSITE WITHIN. WHATEVER IS ON THE INSIDE OF OUR HEARTS WILL BE MADE MANIFEST ON THE OUTSIDE IN OUR DAILY LIVES.
THE HEART IS WHERE THE SPIRIT OF MAN SITS AND IN THE SPIRIT OF MAN THE HOLY SPIRIT DWELLS. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT THE HEART IS KEPT PURE, HOLY AND IN RIGHT STANDING WITH THE KING OF HEAVEN.THE HEART IS WHAT CONNECTS US TO OUR GOD. IT IS TO THE HEART THAT HE SPEAKS AND COMMUNE. THE STATE OF THE HEART IS THE EVIDENCE SEEN OF OUR NEW LIFE. LORD GIVE ME A HEART LIKE THINE.WE CANNOT LIVE BEYOND WHERE THE HEART IS, WHERE THE HEART IS, THERE WE ARE AND WHO WE WILL ALWAYS BE. THE HEART NEVER LIES, IT IS TRUE TO ITS NATURE
CHANGE OUR HEART O GOD, MAKE IT EVER TRUE, CHANGE OUR HEARTS O GOD MAY WE BE LIKE YOU.

Amen

Guard our heart by being full of His Love.... we love because He first loved us!

HEART : IS A hollow musclar organ that puump blood around the body situated in the center of the chest with the apex directed to the left......Truely everything we do flows from the HEART

I looooooooove this verse!!!

Create in all of us clean hearts - Oh God - that we may be like you in all our ways.

.....today, Heavenly Father, fill my heart with Love and not with hate, for I am but human and weak. With You alone my God I can share my heart and let it live with joy.....

Amen!

ABOVE ALL ELSE GUARD YOUR HEART. FOR IT IS THE WELLSPRING OF LIFE.

ONE'S HEART SHOULD BE SO HIDDEN WITH CHRIST THAT ANOTHER SEEKS GOD TO FIND IT.

Our heart—our feelings of love and desire—dictates to a great extent how we live because we always find time to do what we enjoy. Guard our hearts above all else, making sure we concentrate on those desires that will keep us on the right path. Make sure your affections lead you in the right direction. Put boundaries on your desires: Don't go after everything you see. Look straight ahead, keep your eyes fixed on your goal, and don't get sidetracked on detours that lead to sin.

Praise His name! It always has been and always will be a "heart-walk". We often are taught to guard our hearts from that which could "come in from influence of iniquity" in the world around us. What insight and discernment can be beneficial to us from the perspective of "guarding- watching and understanding" what is coming FROM within. This is what defiles the soul. What is flowing from my well today? Spring up oh living well in my soul! The Holy Spirit will cleanse and sanctify the believer from within, and will flow, nourishing the garden of life you are planted in. His living water will heal where allowed to flow. Glory to God in the highest!

KEEPING YOUR HEART(CENTER OF YOUR WILL) WITH ALL VIGILANCE IS V ERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE OUR HEARTS AND MINDS ARE WHAT ACTUALLY GOVERN OUR EVERY ACTION AND REACTION.... TO GUARD THESE ARE AT YOUR BEST INTEREST BECAUSE GOD'S WORD STATES THAT..." ONLY THE PURE IN HEART SHALL SEE GOD". KEEP YOUR MIND (HEART) STAYED ON THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD AND YOU WILL BE IN THE EXACT PLACE FOR GOD'S FAVOR, PROTECTION, GRACE, MERCY, LEADING, LOVE,AND TRUTH TO... REST, RULE, AND ABIDE IN YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS FOREVER.... THINK ON THESE THINGS!!!!! MAY GOD BLESSS. iF YOU ARE FEELING THIS CAN SOMEBODY SAY,... AMEN!!!!!!!

tru tru.... this goes right along wit my day today

yes!
