"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. "
Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
Romans 13:2 Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of him who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,
Romans 13:4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain; he is the servant of God to execute his wrath on the wrongdoer.
Romans 13:5 Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
Romans 13:6 For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.
Romans 13:7 Pay all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Romans 13:9 The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and any other commandment, are summed up in this sentence, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Romans 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Romans 13:11 Besides this you know what hour it is, how it is full time now for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed;
Romans 13:12 the night is far gone, the day is at hand. Let us then cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light;
Romans 13:13 let us conduct ourselves becomingly as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy.
Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

What do u do when u live in a currupt Country with currupt governing, when currupt practices are termed a way of life? The rigteous are looked at as foolish. I must say it is challenging but, the fact still remains that you should submit to government authorities.As chritians(christ like) we need to pay our taxes even when we know that the money is not been used in the proper way. Obey traffic lights even when others are beating the traffic lights, do what u know in your spirit man is right in the eyes of God. Do not look at man but let our gaze be fixed and focus on our lord Jesus the authour and finisher of our faith, for He has promised us that our obedience would be rewarded. We don't know how or when but a day will come when we will reap the fruits of our obedience

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall:-) Psalms 55:22

Just as I'm thinking to myself that America is doomed because of a new president who has policies that are obviously anti-Christian I get THIS as my Bible verse for the day. What an awesome God - when I am down He picks me up - HE is in control.

DOES GOD APPOINT OUR GOVERNMENTS?
The Apostle Paul was writing to predominantly Gentile believers and urging them to live righteous lives. That sounds fine until we realise that they were living under the infamous Emporer Nero! He used to crucify Christians and set them alight for his garden parties. Knowing this, Paul continues to instruct the Christians to submit to the authorities of the day ie. submit to Nero! Knowing the possibility of the Christian believers being persecuted, Paul's conviction was that civil government is ordained by God and therefore needs to be obeyed. This principle remains with us today.
Submission to the civil authorities of the day will allow the world to see the church from a different perspective. Do you remember Jesus' statement to Pilate before he was crucified? He said, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above." All earthly authority comes ultimately from God. The behaviour of Christians in relation to their rulers is also to be goverened by their submission to God. When Peter and John were commanded by the Sanhedrin not to speak about Jesus they replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God..." God is our ultimate authority and the One to whom we must submit.
As we live as good citizens, the world will see the message of the gospel in action.

This is outstanding. But it also hits closer to home within our family structures. Children are to be in submission to their parents in the Lord, husbands are to be the head of the wife in submission to God, and wives are to be submissive to their own husbands. You would be surprised at just how much some people fight against being submissive. It is God's order.

REBELLION IS THE OPPOSITE OF SUBMISSION. THIS IS A BIG STRONGHOLD IN NOT JUST THE CHURCH BUT IN GENERAL. EVERYBODY WANTS TO DO THEIR OWN THING, NO HUMILITY AND TEACHABLENESS. OUR SLAVERY INHERITANCE HAS ALOT TO DO WITH THE NEGATIVE CONNOTATION THAT HAS BEEN ATTACHED TO THE MEANING OF SUBMISSION.
WHEN WE LEARN TO SUBMIT TO THE AUTHORITY INSTITUTED, THEN WE ARE SETTING UP OURSELVES TO BE EXALTED, WHETHER BY GOD OR BY MAN. THERE IS NO AUTHORITY THAT IS ESTABLISHED EXCEPT THE ONES THAT GOD HAS INSTITUTED, REBEL AGAINST SUCH AND WE ARE REBELLING AGAINST GOD HIMSELF. LER US HUMBLE OURSELVES AND WE WILL BE EXALTED, IN DUE SEASON.

the scripture speaks for itself ...

Lord, I pray that you will help me to always submit myself to any authorities that you alone created, Amen!

God is the only answer. Thank You Jesus!

My soul, my life and whole being is subject to the higher power, the power that is ordained by God, therefore all lesser powers are under my feet, for the greater one is in me and working through me.

Everyone has to answer to someone else.God is the ultimate authority,though.His ways & answers are not always the way or answer that we want or expect, BUT---HIS WAY IS ALWAYS BEST!!!!!! Praise The Father, Praise The Son, Praise The Holy Spirit!!!!! AMEN!!!!! :D

From the "Doctrinal" book, Paul instructs us on how we are to submit to our government. God is the one who sets up kings, governors, and even presidents. It is our part to pray for our leaders and to support the cause of liberty and freedom, 1 Timothy 2:1-3. When we fail to follow God's desire for our lives we find ourselves in the problems of Proverbs 29:2 (KJV), "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." This is the time we should heed 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV), "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." If you don't like the way our government is being run, then pray for God to heal our land. Oh, by the way, do what God says to do: humble yourself, seek His face, and turn from wickedness. Doing these will certainly improve the outcome!

God is in control no matter what the out come looks like....

This is fitting for my life and day today!!

This is one of those verses that bites...especially when the "governing authorities" we are now commanded to submit to are so evil. May God grant us the grace to be salt and light in a post Christian culture where Chicago style corrup politics has reached the highest office in the land. May God be merciful yet again, and restore our once great nation to its Christ-honoring foundations.

We all need to remember this right now.

This does not mean Obama's Law....

Sure wish our leaders would review this every morning before they begin in their work!
