My parents raised myself and four siblings in the church. My parents, grandparents, and other relatives stressed education and participation in extracurricular activities as well. They wanted us to be well-rounded individuals therefore exposing us to the positive things the world had to offer especially in the arts. During my years in school, I participated in various activities and organizations.I went to all Christian schools (Carver Christian, Saint Theresa’s Little Flower, and Bishop Hogan) until college where I received my degree in Fashion Merchandising from CMSU. Even there God was a constant for me. The organizations (Baptist Student Fellowship, Association Of Black Collegiate’s Gospel Choir, and Sisters of Ujima) I was a part of had a Christian focus. There I had the pleasure to meet many people who positively affected my life.
I currently have my own business, Vogue En Noir, where I specialize in all things fashion. In my spare time I like to dance, read, socialize, and whatever. I love cultural activities and am down for new experiences. Another passion of mine is singing, so much so that I am currently looking to start a band in the near future.
I have been a member of Greater Mt. Zion for life. During my childhood, I participated in the Choir, Baptist Training Union (BTU), Sunday School, Young Ladies For Christ (Mission Ministry). Currently, I am a member of the Ladies Chorus and Junior Mission Ministry. I am also the Dance Director for the two Praise Dance Troupes at the church; Angels of God (children ages 4 -17) and Women of Esther (ages 18 +). I enjoy teaching dance and find that this is one of the gifts, which God has given me to reach the world.
I love the Lord with all my heart, soul, and mind.
4:10 As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 4:11 If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11 KJV
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:2-3 KJV
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD. Psalms 150:1-6 KJV |
