You Are Not Alone
Thanksgiving can be a wonderful time of year. It's a time for family to come together and put aside all differences. It's a time of feasting and fellowship. It's a time of appreciation for all the things we have been granted in this life. It's a time of relating, on an intimate level, with the ones you love.
For some however, Thanksgiving can be a very lonely day. If you have found yourself alone on this holiday I want to lift up a prayer of encouragement to you. Although you may in fact be alone in the physical, realize that in the spirit realm you are surrounded by love. You are not alone!
As for me I have chosen to spend Thanksgiving Day alone. I have had a couple of invitations, but chose not to accept. It's not that I desire to be alone, or that I am unsocial. I have just made a decision to spend the entire day fasting and in prayer, giving thanks to my loving savior and Lord, Jesus, the Christ! I want to sing my heart out to God. I am going to let the Word of Christ have the run of the house. Thanking God the Father every step of the way.
You are not alone my friend. If you are a born-again believer, the same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead dwells within you. Spend some time cultivating your relationship with the one who will never leave you and never forsake you.
He has a feast prepared for you. It's been cooking since before the day you were born. Your place is set at his table. The finest silver and china is laid out. The wine isn't aged though. It's a new wine. It's a wine that once you partake of it, you will never thirst again. The very best part is, that he has some things he's been dying to tell you. Literally.
Enjoy your Holiday my friends. May the peace of God rule in your hearts today, tomorrow, and forever!
Colossians Three - Fifteen through Seventeen The Message
Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.
