| Pet Sins (Another Song) |

Pet Sins
At first they were fun, No trouble at all. Of course I could manage them, I’m strong after all. But now it seems that I’m the thrall ‘cause these pet sins they’ve got me on a leash! Sometimes when I’d worry, I’d turn to them. It always felt better after a little sin. Then afterwards, Oh, that guilt sets in. These pet sins they’ve got me on a leash! Chorus: Sunday morning, in the pew, Pleasing God is all I want to do. But out the door – what happened to me? Lord please help me, get me off this leash! Lord, I’ve tried Most everything. Stopping this just Seems bigger than me. Oh Lord help me, I’m so weak. Lord please help me, get me off this leash. Chorus Sparrow flies into the sky Thinks of the future But never cries, Because he’s in God’s loving eyes. Lord please help me, get me off this leash. Copyright Jess Stuart 2007

| Jess, awesome song! Well, lyrics at least. :-) "Stopping this just Seems bigger than me." -- this is a universal experience, you've written something that multitudes of believers can identify with. ~mike |

Bravo Jess!! I don't know if I liked the tune. *giggle* There are so many that can relate to this song. When can we buy the single? I liked the progression of the leash, from struggling with it and then asking God to take it away. So like the struggle with sin where we try to handle it and realize how dumb we were and cry out to God for help. There is a group I like to listen to called Every Day Sunday. I like the idea that let's live on Monday like we sing about and say amen to on Sunday! Great lyrics Jess! You have my vote! In the Grip of His Grace, Brent |

Good lyrics! Also sounds good to Moby's "Sunspot" instrumental which is what I happened to be listening to when reading. |

Thanks Dave, Mike, Brent, Ken, Keith, Eric and Suzanne!
It's going to be mostly spoken word to a swing/blues beat. Please pray for me, I can't seem to figure out the chords.

| I like it...alot! It works pretty well set roughly to tune and beat of "Blue Suede Shoes"...kind of a 'Romans 7 Rag" ;o<)- |
|
|
| Or kick the beat up and try it with a basic blues progression, 1-4-5, driving, like boogie. You could even drop back to minors on the chorus. Dig up an old track c. 1975-76 called Laundromat, by Rory Gallagher and give a listen. |

| Great lyrics, and I am sure that the chords will come together. |
|
|
| I can totally relate to this song, although at this point its more of a poem ;p But either way I like it. I'd love to hear some music to go along with it. |

Thanks Don, Cheryl, Deb and Dennis. I sat down at a piano last night, and figured out the chords =D |
|
|
| Good lyrics. I am thinking again, Glenn Kaiser in his blues! Ripley county blues, man! Take a bow...lol But stay humble in the process. :P |

Thanks Lara, I just went to Glenn Kaiser's website. Wow! What a compliment! By God's grace, I don't think I'll need a bigger hat ;D Thanks Tropical_Guy. We probably agree, but just to make sure: The point I'm trying to make in this song is this: God's forgiveness comes from the cross - overcoming sinful habits also comes from the cross. If I didn't know what sin was without God's revelation, how can I overcome my sinful habits without God's invovlement? Thanks Woman of Joy. I'm blessed that the song is a blessing =D |
