| Sometimes, We Just Don't Get It!! (Written For The Times We Struggle) |
|
| |
Yesterday, I walked with You, Lord Along this slippery path, And just today, I stopped to pray But no one knows the half. Sometimes I feel so lost Like you're not here with me. Sometimes it seems I am blind, Like I cannot even see. I hate how useless I sometimes feel In my fallen earthly flesh.
Oh, when will I see Your Face! Lord, I need a new touch of Your Grace!
Sometimes I feel so dead inside, Please tell me again you're here. I beg for the assurance only You can give, Please deliver me from fear.
Yesterday, I walked with You, Today, I feel so lost. Please keep the evil one from me No matter what the cost! The battleground is building From without and from within. Jesus, please be near me And protect me from all sin.
Still! Yesterday I walked with You And today I feel so lost...
Then The Lord Might Have Said-
There will be valleys and dangerous slopes And mountains very steep, Do not forget through me you see. Your precious soul, I keep. Remember where you came from. Remember where you've been. Keep walking straight ahead And don't go back that way again. Don't turn to the left or the right. Don't look behind your back. Just keep your thoughts on My Saving Grace And I'll take up the slack. Then one day I'll come and get you And I will forever set you free. Your earthly chains will be broken And you will always be with me. So let others say what they will. Don't give it a second thought. Just do what you know is right... Because your life, with My Blood, I bought.

4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Thank you, Cathy! Do we all feel the same way sometimes? Interesting how well I can understand these lines... Maybe the devil does not have any new weapons anymore but uses the old ones for all? Then why do we fall into the same pit over again? This question has been answered many times, and I can repeatedly teach myself about this, but we still need to be reminded. I know I do. Thanks for reminding me again :) Blessings, Valya |

Dear Valya,
We do need to be reminded, especially me. The hardest time that I have is forgiving myself! I hate my humaness. The Lord forgave and delivered me in a miraculous way. When times get confusing, I remember that night, many years ago, that He lifted my burden. But, coming from an abusive home situation, it was hard for me to believe that He actually loved me. I know it in my heart...but there are so many voices to cause us to doubt! Lift your head up child, and know that he loves you with an everlasting love. He came looking for us when we were busy going our own way. Nothing can separate us or take us from Him!!
Take care and Have courage,
Cathy |

Cathy, That is a wonderful poem! Such truth leaping off of the page to me. Like others have said, we can all relate. I especially like God's answer in the end of the poem. The slippery slope you refer to reminds me of Psalms 73 where the writer, Asaph, was distracted by those around him and almost slipped. Then in verse 12 or so, Asaph enters God's sanctuary and his perspectrve completely changes. May we be like that, not distracted with others in what they do and say but be totally devoted to God and spend time in His Sanctuary to keep our perspective in how God sees us. Great poem and thanks for sharing it with us. Your brother in Christ, Brent |

Beautiful! I can certainly relate.
And I will forever set you free. Your earthly chains will be broken And you will always be with me.
What encouragement! Praise be to the God that sets the captives free and binds up the broken hearted! God bless! |

Brent, Thank you for that wonderful response...like a mini-sermon for me! The world and everything in it will always try to distract us. As we learn to keep our eyes on Christ... our perspective does change!
KyleenWren, Thanks so much for stopping by and reading. I am glad that you were encouraged.
