"I believe if we are seeking God’s will, He will lead us."  Of this I'd like to say I have no doubt.  I take a great deal of comfort i the fact that even while we were sinners Jesus died for us.  I wish I were better able to flip from scripture to scripture to make a point.  There are a couple of phrases I believe in the Psalms that basically sais that as many as the sands on the desert of the thoughts the Almighty has for us, and that we a wonderfully made.

Actually I wasn't going to find those scriptures to make a point it's just that they have been on my heart    As I read this BLOG knowing that God put eternity on our heart there are I believe actually many references to Eternity
6:16 Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk `therein'. 6:17 And I set watchmen over you, `saying', Hearken to the sound of the trumpet; but they said, We will not hearken.

I think of course what is often translated as Ancient is actually the word Olam which actually means like from eternal to eternal.

Of course infinity was a wort that I struggled with in mathematics.  and in the Bible I struggle with eternal.  My mind thinks it has to grasp something before it will give my soul permission to believe it.

Well this was a way longer comment than what I was wanting to make.  But I like a post that engages my heart and my mind at the same time.

Pastor Tim, I feel extreme comfort in knowing that God has plans for me.
29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

The trouble with this passage seems to be many interpret a health/wealth message in it. This comes from reading "you" as designating the believer today. To do this we also need to broaden welfare, future and hope to include blessings post mortem! God doesn't necessarily have riches and health in everyone's future plans here on earth! (I know you weren't saying this, your blog just brought to my mind others saying it.) Great blog!  ~mike

Mike, I totally agree. One of the problems with interpreting Scripture is that we read into it our own cultural conditioning. We live in a capitalist society where the economy is fairly good, so the properity message will work here in the US. However, try to preach that message in a third world country. It doesn't work. Great point!

Thanks Pastor Tim--I've been struggling with "Have I  messed up God's awesome plan for my life with doing dumb things?"  God encourages me today that He is still on the throne--to not give up, but surrender everything to Him.  God bless.

I personally am thankful that God knows His plans for me and I don't.  He has gotten me out of some fine messes, and ended up doing great things.  I know that will always be what happens, even though I don't know what will happen in my life.  He knows it all, and my life is in His hands.

In spite of a wrong decision, God still plans to use you. He is currently planning things for you to do right now. You are deeply loved and fully pleasing in His sight and He plans to use you right where you’re at.

This is sooooo important here!  God can take ANYTHING and make it beautiful and towards His great purpose.  Even in our weakness (and ESPECIALLY in our weakness!!) he makes us strong and can use us.  He comes to us where we are and draws us back into His will.  Amen to that!!
