Boy maybe I should have prayed to stay on topic just for one post, but then folks would wander if something has happened to me. After I got up this afternoon. I went to the local Kroger. to get my favorite. Kroger Brand Cran-Grape juice. I ran into an old flame. While she could probably use some prayer, I just struggled with the difficulty of keeping my mind focused on what I'd like it to focus on.
While I'll pray for her, I'll pray that can I continue to focus on obedience rather than lust. God has a plan for me sure and no offense to the ladies that may be reading. Lust has a way of distracting me from my True Love Christ. I don't want to be just paying Jesus Keyboard service when I say that. There are a lot of advantages to being single. Deciding to switch from a Christmas Tree to a Menorah was easy. If God chooses to lay some thing on my heart I don't have to convince my wife.
Long story short, (looking at the size of this post it may be to late for that) I'm reasonably happy with my current circumstances. But when I ran into this old flame a lot of this went out the window. I hope some who read this will pray for me to stand firm. I do believe that God's trying to lay some one on my heart in that area, but I need to keep from getting distracted in the mean time. I know I need time to develop a relationship with Christ. I need to know how to trust God for having created me to be who I'm supposed to be.
I need to learn to walk the walk I was called to walk. I'll probably talk this over with the first brother in Christ that I run across tomorrow. In the meantime I just thought I'd post this BLOG, Perhaps the spirit will encourage some one to send up a prayer.
17:7Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah, and whose trust Jehovah is. 17:8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? I just knew I was going to find an excuse to include a few scriptures from Jeremiah some where. Trust sure is an important ingredient when it comes to faith.
For some reason our local MBN station don't come in to well so I find myself listening to a local Catholic Station, I tend to figure a Christian is a Christian any how. They were talking for a while about the effects of Pornography.
There's no way to rationalize that . Images to make a fellow succumb to Lust. To go to that numbing place. Where people so desperately try to dwell. As if the flesh really knows how to bring the soul into peace. Personally I was introduced to it while seeking to steal a couple of cigarettes out of my dad's night stand. I think that introduction created more havoc than a lot of things. 1:13 Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1:14 as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in `the time of' your ignorance: 1:15 but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living; 1:16 because it is written, Ye shall be holy; for I am holy. It made it difficult to relate to women as people. It made it difficult to relate to me as people. It made it difficult to accept reality. It took God's place. I allowed the Devil entry into so many parts of my life. It's a good thing that I serve a powerful savior.
I watched that Lee Stohberg Movie "a Case for Christ" one last time before returning it to Blockbuster. It's just a great and Awesome thing that Jesus can speak to even the most stubborn of us. Thank You Jesus that once I was lost but now I'm found and thanks to anyone who took the time to read my ramblings.

| Dave, I have been very blessed to have never had to struggle with pornography, but I know so many who have. Keep the good fight, my friend. It just isn't worth it. If God has put it in your heart to be single, that is great. If He has put it in your heart to marry, that is great, too. In either case, you need to have a firm foundation in the scripture. (I am not saying something you don't already know.) What I can tell you is that my marriage is as close to heaven as I will get while on this planet, and it is ONLY because we both have a foundation anchored in God. It is of no works of my own. So, my prayer for you today is that you hang on tight to that anchor. |

| Hi, Dave--your openness about your struggles is very encouraging. I, too, don't have a problem with "laying it all out there" and asking for help--but I need to make sure I'm doing that with the right people--mature believers. I'll pray for you today, especially for Christian brothers you can pray with and for. |

I know the Father loves it when you "run to Him", which is what you are doing when you see the temptations and ask for help in resisting them. Praying for you! |

Dave, I'll be praying with you and for you. Get yourself grounded deeper in the Lord. We will PULL--pray until the load is lifted, on your behalf. 15:58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord. God bless you, Rev. Barbara |
