| Got Bored - Bought a Camera |
|
| |
I got bored yesterday after being home alone for the third straight day and bought a digital camera. It's been a couple of years since I have had a decent camera. I bought the Canon SD1000. So far I love it. The pictures I am posting here today were all taken with the Auto setting and not the best of weather conditions. Because of the weather I chose not to journey too far from the house. In fact, I took these a little over an hour ago and now it's raining. Yep, that's right, raining in Atlanta praise God!
Tell me what you think.
Blog Headquarters:

Did I happen to mention that I live in the Target Parking Lot? The is the wonderful view from my balcony:

Ahhh....the spectacular view of concrete, glass, and steel:

A couple of shots from the rooftop terrace:

I love the colors of fall. This adorns one of the pots on the terrace:

And now a view from the outside. Here's the complex where I currently reside:

You know, sometimes living in the metro area has a tendancy to make one loose his appreciation for nature. But not so in my case. God knew I would need a place to sit in peace, pray, and appreciate the works of his creation.
Tucked in between a couple of those high-rise office buidings you can see in the pictures above, I have discovered this very cool little lagoon. It's a great place to get away. Sometimes I take my bible with me and just sit and read the word prayerfully while watching the birds:

Looks like nobody is home:

Well, on second glance, it looks like I may have some visitors:

Peaceful aren't they? You know what though, while they look cool, calm, and collected from the surface, don't you just know their little feet are paddling up a storm below the surface. Sounds like my brain:

Cool Shades:

The oddball:

The trip home. As I said earlier, I love the colors of fall:

I couldn't resist. God has blessed America:

Well, that about does it for my little journey for this morning. Now I am just going to sit on the balcony for a while and enjoy the rain God sent to us. I hope it rains for days.
I posted previously how I had spent the day of Thanksgiving in fasting and prayer. IT was a great time with the Lord, It was restful and I got a considerable amount of reading done. While I cannot say that I recieved any great revelation, I did however hear his voice clearly tell me this, so I wrote it down. It's quite simple, but it was exactly the advice I needed to hear. Here was his advice:

I hope you enjoyed the photos. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Kim,
I was pretty impressed with the photos that little camera took as well. Considering it's about the size of a deck of playing cards it does a nice job. I have bee reading some tips on how to adjust for certain shots, hopefully my skills will improve.
I love that little lagoon. There is a walkway around it and a suspension bridge to cross over. To top it off, the adjacent office buildings have outdoor speakers that play soft jazz continuously. It's my oasis!
I had to laugh at your comment about running to the store. One of the reasons I enjoy living here is because of that Target. It's way too convenient. On the rare occasion that I do buy groceries, I roll the buggy right into the building entrance, onto the elevator, then right into my apartment. I spent a couple of years homeless, although I never pushed around a grocery buggy, now I do. In style, Praise God!

| The trees are just beautiful! I'm originally from Macon, GA and the view of all the buildings reminded me of the times I spent as a buyer in the apparel and gift marts there. Great city - terrible traffic! |

Hi Bunny!
Macon, GA, eh? I spent a little time in Macon.
Did you say traffic? Traffic in Atlanta? We don't have traffic! We have rolling parking lots!
Thanks for the visit. |

Actually Kim, almost everybody in the building does it. Often I see a few carts stacked up in the foyer. I think Target sends employees over here to 'round em' up!
I love that passage from Joel. My mom used to remind me of that promise. In fact, I still have a note from her where she wrote those verses out. I keep it in my bible.
Any yes, he is faithful and he is a God of restoration! His promises will not fail! |

Hi Rachel!
I am glad you enjoyed the photos. Sometimes I wish I was living in a smaller city, but God brought me here and I am bound and determined to discover why!
Thanks for the visit! |
