Hello friends-
Back from Tennessee where we spent time with family. Hope you had a great holiday and I am interested in hearing about any witnessing opportunities you may have had. We have been talking about the gospel message and using the 4 bases as a grid to follow when verbalizing the gospel message.
The 4 Bases
1st Base - Sin, guilt, and judgment 2nd Base - Jesus, the cross and the resurrection 3rd Base - repentance and faith Home Base - grow and multiply through evangelism

As we have begun to share on 1st Base, we have showed you three purposes of using the 10 commandments in your gospel presentations.
1. Psalm 19:7 - the law is perfect converting the soul 2. Romans 3:19- the law silences the self righteous mouth and show your listener they are accountable to God 3. Romans 7:7-the law shows your listener what sin is
Today, I want to share with you another purpose for using the 10 Commandments in witnessing but first let me share a story with you to make my point.
Have you ever had a Rainbow vacuum cleaner salesperson come to your house? What is the first thing they do? They have you take your vacuum cleaner and run over a spot on your rug 100 times asking you, "Do you think this area is now clean?" Then they take their expensive vacuum cleaner and go over the spot once or twice and show you the dirt you missed with your $100 Hoover showing you that you need what they have. Next, they bring in this blinding flood light (you might need prayer if you look into this thing) and bang it on your pillow from your couch. Then they shine the light above your pillow allowing you to see all the dust that was already there, again showing you that you need this very valuable answer to your dirt problem.
What is my point?
Your listener must see that they not only would enjoy the benefits of salvation but that they need Jesus. When you show your listener the stain of sin like lying, stealing, lust, blasphemy, coveteousness, idols, and that they have not loved God first and foremost, they will then see that they need your Most Valuable answer to their dirty sin problem, Jesus.
3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Purpose #4-The law is a schoolmaster or tutor or teacher that brings people to Christ.
