| He Saves Me From Me - Part 2 |
|
| |
Continued from Part 1
I got so long-winded writing my story that it would not all fit entirely in one blog. I did not realize there was a limit. What you see here is just the last couple paragraphs of a very long story. Part 1 is available by clicking "Continued" above.
I would like to take the time to thank you for reading my testimony. I also want to encourage those of you who do not know Jesus to seek him with everything you have. My hope is that this message can touch just one life. If that one person is you, be of good cheer. God does not have more respect for any one person than he does another. If he can take a life like my former life and turn it around, he will indeed do the same for you. You can be free from all of the things that bind you. He’s waiting with an outstretched hand. All you have to do is admit that you have made mistakes and ask him to come into your life. At the moment you do this with all sincerity, you’re spirit is renewed. You become a new creature. The bible says it like this:
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
Things that are old in your life will begin to drop off. Old habits. Old feelings. Old problems. And new things will be made available to you. New hope. A new sense of purpose. New friends. A brand new life. Take hold of this new life. You do not have to suffer. You do not have to buy into what the world says will bring you happiness. Happiness is a choice and if you really want to find true happiness, choose Jesus!
This is a true saying:
If we die with him, we will also live with him. If we endure hardship, we will reign with him. If we deny him, he will deny us,if we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
2 Timothy 2:11-13 (NLT) |

| Definately worth the read! So you are still a new Christian! Don't let yourself lose that fire! Man oh man....I totally understand some of what you went through, and when I was with Harvest House, I met so many ppl with the same story, of sorts. You spoke of not feeling really comfortable anywhere at the beginning of your story, well, that is me, but I felt completely comfortable, at home and accepted with the Havest House crew, which is a street outreach. Anyhow, I could go on and on and on...it is clear, as well, you have a writing gift....I get from your writing you are a busy type person? Like, can't sit still? Am I right? Wrong? It's getting late....almost midnite, and I gotta go check facebook. Glad I read this! Wow! Like, write a book when you feel God leading you to! And your precious parents....you can't feel too bad for them in the sense of they get to be with the Lord right now!!!! But it would still be hard to lose your parents. But praise God, you get to see them again someday soon!!!!! |

Lara,
You have no idea how much I appreciate you taking the time to read my story.
You nailed on the head the fact that I cannot sit still. Of course now I sit still a lot more because of my newest addiction, MyChurch!
I may have to get a Blackberry so I can keep blogging on the move!
Thanks for the awesome comment Lara. You are and will always be topnotch in my book. | |

My husband and my boy are the same; no sitting still! lol I can't recall a day where my husband could stay home and stay put. What's a blackberry? The only blackberries I know were in the woods and super yummy! Awwww, you are sweet. We lived some of the same stuff in many respects. I think you rock too! |

Define this term, woods?
I live in a concrete world!
But I did grow up in Vermont & New Hampshire. About 75 miles south of the border!
I loved wild blackberries!

Awesome Testimony!!!! I know that darkness you spoke of. I know today I do not have to live a life filled with alcohol, drugs & Lust! Jesus has set me free. He is my guide, my Savior, my one and only !!! You have filled my heart and he tears came when you spoke of your mom & dad. Mine are still with me and I spend as much time with them as i can. My mom has parkinsons and dad is 85, good health today, but slowing down more and more. I have a relationship with him that i never thought would be possible. he molested me as a child and it is only through Gods forgivenss of my sins that i was able to forgive him.
Thank you again and I know God has been waiting for me to write my testimony Peace&Blessings Love your sister In Christ Donna |

Wow Donna!
Thank you again!
For people like me and you, we have a great understanding of the term "set free" don't we?
I am so glad to hear that He has healed you of all those past wounds. I am glad to know that your Dad will not be taking that regret with him to the grave.
My testimony is way too long. I need to reduce it to something that the ones that really need to hear it would take the time to read. But nonetheless, thanks from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read.
I would love to hear the story of your life and how you came to know Christ! Be certain to let me know when you write. Notice I didn't say "if" you write it!
Let me know if I can offer you any encouragement!
Later! |
