| | Day 25 Current mood: awake Category: Religion and Philosophy The reading for day 25 was 1Kings 8:1-16:34. I think that the most interesting portion of this scripture is chapter 13. God has an un-named prophet come from Judah to rebuke Jeroboam. Jeroboam has his hadn shriveled up because he reached out to seize a man of God and then the prophet, at Jeroboams request, asks God to restore his hand, and God did. Jeroboam asks the man to stay with him and the man of God says " No way man, God told me to go straight home" (from the Zachalicious version). So then theres this old prophet that happens to be living in the area and he goes out to meet the man of God. He lies to him and tells him that God said it would be ok for him to back and stay with him and eat. So the man of God goes with him and because he did, he got mauled by a lion. Now, tell me, if you can, what is the moral of the story? |
