| Was it easier for Jesus? |
|
| |
I have been busy these past few months taking my mother to appointments so I haven't had time to be here much. I was reading this morning and this came to me.
I have often heard the comments that because Jesus was God's son, it was easier for Him to bear the trials, tribulations, and even the crucifixion.
In my devotions this morning I finally came to uderstand that the same Spirit that was with Jesus Christ--the Spirit that gave Him the strength to endure all that we endure and more, is the same Spirit that God offers us today. Jesus retained His divine nature, and limited Himself to human attributes and powers during His time here on earth, to be an example of a sinless human being that could overcome sin and by His being anointed with the Holy Spirit could over come Satan.
We have that same Spirit offered to us today. The Spirit that will give us strength to resist Satan--the spirit that will give us strength in times of trouble, and grace in time of need.
Jesus had the Holy Spirit with Him because not only was He God's son, He stayed in direct communication with His Father--our God--our Creator.
We as His children have that same privilege and really that is what God wants....communication, fellowship, praise, and most of all love from His children that He loves so much.
Staying in God's word and striving to do His will, and talking to Him daily will help to keep us where He wants us to be, in the shelter of His loving arms.
Thank you for reading. Blessings to you all. |

Denise,
This is so true, and yet it's still a mystery for many. All we have to do is understand that we are now apart of the royal family with God as our Father, and we also have access to everything that Jesus had while here on earth. All we have to do is believe. Praise His Holy Name.

Oh absolutely not. It was not easier for Jesus, I mean come on lets get real is it easy for any of us even when we have the HS with us? He just knew what we know if we truly walk with him and let the HS work through us in Gods Grace.
AMEN |

Thank you Suzanne and Merry Christmas to you
Thank you Becky, you are so right it is never easy but the Holy Spirit definitly helps. Yes Jesus was human but He was close to God. I am not saying it was easy for Him I agree with you it was not easy, nor have I had to suffer the pain that He suffered, or taken on the burden that he took for me. My little trials and tribulations could never compare to what he had to go through for me. I praise Him for that He is my Savior.!!! PTL |

"so I haven't had time to be here much" .....and you were missed!
One thing to remember is, Jesus was not born with the same nature that we are born with. He did not have to deal with the "old man". Otherwise he would not have been a perfect sacrifice without blemish, undefiled. He was fully God (Col. 2:9), though he came in the likeness of sinful flesh (Rom. 8:3). He was not internally conflicted the way we are, wanting to please God yet seemingly unable to do so much of the time!
Was it easier for Jesus than us?? That is a different question! Satan himself tempted Jesus, few if any of us can say that! Since Satan knew who Jesus was, I'm sure he threw a lot more at Jesus than he does at you and I. Jesus also had a lot of pressure on him that we don't, given that all the eyes of history were on him. So it seems an argument could be made that it was actually harder for Jesus than us, though I really don't know how valid it is to say that.
Good question Denise! ~mike |

Thanks Mike, I don't think it was easier for Jesus nor His Father who gave Him as a sacrifice---but the same Holy Spirit that gave Him strength is the same Holy Spirit offered us today
I missed being here too!!! Thank you |

Amen Dear sister Denise. Our God is an awesome God. He loves us so much thats why he his son for remission for our sins. Holy spirit is third person in the trinity. He is the couseller, comforter. He teaches us how to pray in tongues. Ancient days Jehovah God was with people, after that Jesus was with people, when ever Jesus ascended to heaven Holy spirit is came down and dwelling in the midst of the people. See God so much loved us thats why he do not leave us alone. Our God is always with us and leading the people to eternity. And having felloship with us. Love from Evangelist Sukumar |
