THE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
Sermon Series Every Christmas parents get nervous & children get excited, it is time for the yearly Christmas play. I don't know how many I have witnessed but they were all special as boys and girls attempted in their own way to tell the story of Jesus. It was their special gift to the Christ child. This year, in our new sermon series, we want to take a closer look at the main elements of the Christmas story and find fresh meaning in that old story that comes alive every year in The Christmas Pageant.

  CHRISTMAS DINNER The church Christmas dinner is this Tuesday and Wednesday night at the Grace Bible Camp located in the beautiful mountains just a few minutes from Covington. If you need directions just follow this link to the camp web site: GRACE We are trying two nights because of the crowds last year. Wednesday is full, but we did have some space left on Tuesday night. Please call Bill White at Grace Bible camp if you are coming on Tuesday and you haven't signed up so they will set up for the right number. (540-997-0243). Come join us as we start off the holiday season in the beautiful mountains. I wonder how many snowmen Bill has this year?
 "GREED IS GOOD" Actor Michael Douglas made this statement famous and even won an academy award for saying it in Wall Street. Here is part of the speech: The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed -- for lack of a better word -- is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed -- you mark my words -- will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Of course this goes against everything Christ ever taught. At this time of the year it is easy to become consumed with greed. Wanting more and more and enjoying it less and less.
