Who do You Say I am?

  Have you ever wanted to know what Jesus was like? Now tell the truth. Well first of all He is the Son Of God.Jesus name in Hebrew  Yeshua or Joshua  or The Greek to English Jesus means Y-H-V-H Saves, Jesus said if you see me you see My Father. Now his mother Miram or Mary was a Jewess, a Semit. There are general physical traits ascribed to this race. We might be able to describe her physical characteristics. She would be dark, with dark hair. She would be of medium height.Her face would be oval, olive complexion. Her eyes would be dark if not black. So what did Jesus look like? Down the centuries artists have shown Jesus in paintings, Mosaic, Carvings, and Stained glass windows. The way he appeared depended on the idea of Jesus the artists wanted to portray. For example, sometimes they emphasized his strength, sometimes his gentleness. But how can you picture perfect love? How do you picture Salvation ? don't you live it daily with our savor Jesus The Christ? So Jesus might look like his mother and the spirit of his father, Creator of all. He had dark hair and eyes. Dark skin with a oval face, olive complexion. Maybe six feet tall in height weighting 170 or 180 pounds. He most likely had a beard. As for his physical build, because of his work as a carpenter, his shoulders would have been broad and his arms strong. Jesus was Jewish so they went to the Synagogue, where each sabbath ( from dusk on Friday to dusk on Saturday ) services were held and words were read from the Torah, the first five books of the Bible. He is mixed with all kinds of people, and could be serious and funny,blunt and kind. The children's games were marbles were very popular with children back in Jesus time Children also played with whistles,rattles, hoops and spinning tops. His clothing the styles didn't change from year to year as our do today. People living in that part of the world dress just about the same as they did in 1959. Years ago...And as they had for hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Some wore a plain sheet wound around the body with one end flung over there shoulder. Jesus is usually pictured dressed that way. He would have wore a Prayer Shawl over his shoulders and when he went to go to prayer with his Father he would put the prayer shawl on his head. When he was about thirty years old he started to sh-air the Good News Three years later he would die for all of  our sins. Of all people past, present, and time to come. One who never knew sin took all of ours no wonder he said My God, My God why have you forsaken me. For his father could not be with him because of our sins. That must have been some kind of hell. But after Three days he arose so if we want to we can be with our Heavenly Father forever. So I say Amen To that. How about you whom do you say he is?  I say he is The Son Of God.

Doyle, I really appreciated your info about the real Jesus! There has indeed been much mis-perception over the centuries. This kind of reminds me of Lourdes' recent blog, Jesus Was Not Puerto Rican!  (I knew that, of course he is northern European!)  ~mike

ps... This is some great content, and could go from really really good to superb with a little formatting - might want to try blank lines separating the paragraphs. :-)
