I wanted to share a little of God's provisions on my behalf leading up to our Mississippi trip.
For those of you who don't know me, I am married to a wonderful woman(Julie) and have 2 children( Ethan and Christiana). We live on 1 income and that paycheck gets stretched on a weekly basis.
I had heard about the previous Mississippi trips (from previous blogs and on Sunday mornings) and really felt a calling to go and share Gods love. I have some construction experience and as a homeowner have learned alot just by working on my own house. I thought that my limited knowledge could really be used on this trip.
The trip was funded mostly by donations, which covered fuel costs, vehicle rental and hotel stays for our traveling. All that I had to cover was meal allowances during traveling and 1 night out while we were down there. I was told it would be around $150-$200, which is not alot of money to most people but is a small fortune to me.
2 or 3 weeks before the trip I was starting to feel discouraged and was considering backing out. Around this time I was approached by 1 of the companies that I do occasional part time work for. They wanted me to work for a few hours on a Sat. and the amount I received from that was $180. The Wed. before the trip, my Mother-in-law hands me a $100 to also defray the cost of my meal allowances.
4:19 And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
God really went over and above the projected cost. He also gave me a "kick in the pants" reminding me of who is really in charge. I really thank Him and everyone else who was involved in making this trip a success.
Ed,it was great working with you on this trip! Getting to know you and others on our team so much better was just icing on the cake! It's always wonderful to hear stories like yours and how God provided. I never get tired of hearing them! ~ Rebecca
