| Jesus, Just Say the Word |
|
| |
How many of you agree that the Word of God alone is powerful enough to heal?
So often we are looking for some sign from heaven. We expect Gold Dust or a Glory Cloud to appear.
The Word of God, all by itself, contains all the power necessary to bring forth healing.
Let's take a look at an example of this from scripture:
Luke 7:1-10 (New Living Translation) When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people, he returned to Capernaum. At that time the highly valued slave of a Roman officer was sick and near death. When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his slave. So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said, “for he loves the Jewish people and even built a synagogue for us.”
So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor. I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd that was following him, he said, “I tell you, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!” And when the officer’s friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed.
Jesus is ALWAYS willing to heal. Notice how he was on the way! Jesus knew that he could heal the servant right from where he was. He didn't physically have to be there. But he meets us at our level of faith. As soon as he became aware of this soldier's level of belief, he healed the servant at that very moment, right from where he was!
Just one Word from Jesus contains all the power necessary to bring forth your healing. And your faith in that Word is what pleases God.
Please God and be healed all in one shot! Sounds like a win-win situation to me!

| Great lesson, Michael! This year I realized that I should never underestimate God's ability or desire to heal. I glorify my Lord and demonstrate trust when I pray for the miracle rather than a modest request that he give "comfort" to the hurting, or "guide the doctor's hands." |

Agreed Mike. I think too often we cop out when we say "if it be your will God". Healing is always God's will. Saying "if it be your will" just gives us an excuse for when it doesn't instantly manifest. Like you, I want to believe God for miracles. All things are possible with God, right?
A lot of people are praying for God to send a revival. Like he is holding back or something. They picture God sitting on the throne with his arms crossed until we beg enough for him to pour out His Spirit. God wants a revival more than we do. He's not holding back. When we start laying hands on the sick, as he told us to do, and begin to see blind eyes pop open and people jumping out of wheel chairs, we'll have all the revival we can handle! |

| I agree, Michael, and there is an OT Scripture that says something like "Then He sent His word, and it healed them." (Lara paraphrase)....Psalms? Isaiah? I think it may be one of those two...the concordance is upstairs....but that is the very first scripture I thought of when I read the first part. AMEN. |

Michael-
Amen. Prov. 4:20-23 the word hidden in our is health to our flesh. If Jesus never got sick and He lives in us, sickness and disease can't stay where Jesus is. |

| Great encouragement here, Michael! I may not know God's timeframe for healing, but I KNOW that He is a God who heals and that's what my expectation is! |

Hey Jen:
Thanks for the comment. The way I understand healing is that we are already healed in the spiritual realm. By His stripes we "were" healed. I personally do not believe it is a matter of God's timing, yet, it is a matter of renewing our mind to accept the spritual reality to the point where it is manifested in the physical. He says "speak to your mountain"!

| You put it better than I did! That's what I meant, but too tired to be coherent and probably shouldn't be commenting on blogs. :-) I agree with you completely. |
