Renew Your Mind
How many of you have heard it said that just getting the Word in our head is not enough? We have been taught that we must let it sink from our head into our heart.
I would like to contradict that teaching with a couple of scriptures.
When we became born again our Spirit was made brand new. We were filled with the Holy Spirit and the same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead now dwells within us.
Roman 8:11 (NLT) The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
So we know that we have the Holy Spirit living within us.
Then in Romans 5:5 we learn: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
This tells me that my heart is already completely full of the love of God.
Then Romans 12:2 says: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Renewing our mind is our responsibility
So I see from the Word that we don't need to let the Word sink from our head and get into our heart.
We need to get the Word up from our Heart and into our Head! ---- Change The Way You Think ----

I know I bring this up a lot, but another Bible prescribed way to renew the mind is confess sins to believers you trust. Renewing the mind is mental healing and mental restoration. James 5:16 Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. |

That's a great truth Jess.
There is definitely freedom in transparency. The devil cannot hold us in bondage for anything that we are openly willing to admit!
I believe that confessing clears the channel so that we can tune in a better station! We know that God's transmitter is not the problem. It's our receiver!

Hi there Jess!
I do believe that you are a Jew Jess. I know I am.
2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither [is that] circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 2:29 But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God.

Hi Latonya:
It's great to see you as always.
So what do you think about this concept?
The way I see it, our actions are are a result of what we are thinking. You will never do anything that wasn't first conceived as a thought. So just having the Word in our hearts is not enough. We have to get that Word up from our heart and into our thoughts. We have to meditate on it long enough to turn those thoughts into actions. Be a doer of the Word!
Agree? |

Hint: the Head of Christ is the Male (Father). The Heart of man (mind) is the female. If your heart lays and engages in a humm relationship it will conceive a child. It is very fertile (child=character trait)
Rule to follow.......Beware of whom or what you hummm sleep with. It will be you who bares the child. Do not sleep with the Devil. His offspring are unruly and you will have pain in bearing that child (character/personality). The Devils child will attempt to rule the good seed and even abort it if possible. Better to sleep with your husband from above, the fruit of his seed is peace.
Give your heart to Jesus, but beware the Devil knows how to lie to get the girl.

Michael,
Wow! That's a GREAT observation. I love it. Skillful use of the word, my brutha!
Jess is a guy like me. He ain't afraid to own his depravity. That's a great trait. I've asked many Christians what sin(s) Jesus saved them from and they either can't or won't tell me. It's rare to find someone who will glorify God with their personal testimony.
The bible tells us that we cannot overcome the devil unless we are "under the blood" of the Lamb AND unless we testify about the good thing's God has done in our lives. 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Something about the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony keeps us from loving our lives unto death. It's a magic formula for success if I ever saw one.
From my heart to my head! Rob
P.S. KingdomWithin is alive! Where you been, dude? Jail? |

That is a magic formula Rob. Too bad we can't make some sort of potion from those ingredients. Maybe an anointing oil, or better yet, Kool-Aid!
I was just wondering about KW the other day in fact. Truth is, that comment was made way back in May of this year. I did see a comment from him a few days ago on another blog and dropped him a message. I got no reply.
Jess doesn't come around much either, and I just noticed that Lara Leger is gone altogether. I see a response from me to a comment from her which is apparently non-existent.
Was this blog really that bad? |

Michael,
Your blogs are awesome. Thanks for being such a blessing to my life. I had never heard of Andrew Wommack until you told me about him. I now know where Jim Richards (Impact Ministries out of Huntsville, AL) got most of his theology. Excellent teaching!
KW is a mess. That's why I asked if he had been in jail (tee hee hee). Jess seemed like an ok guy. Poor Lara! I don't know what happened to her but the poor thing! God help her - and her family, ya know?
Love ya, bro, Rob |
