| A Hotel Gideon Bible - What a blessing! |

Have you ever been in a hotel room that did not have a Gideon Bible? I don't think I have. I have to admit that in the past, I've not ever read from it.
However, last night I was so thankful for that Bible. We were in Auburn, and I forgot my Bible. It was a very relaxing evening -- we were in bed by 7:30 -- just sipping on some hot chocolate and watching the Polar Express (well, Hannah and Timothy were).
I felt so lost without my Bible, and then I remembered that there was probably a Gideon Bible in one of the drawers. Sure enough there was. I began with my daily/nightly Psalms. Psalms 37 was so precious to me last night.
37:1 A Psalm of David. Fret not yourself because of the wicked, be not envious of wrongdoers! 37:2 For they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security. 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 37:5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. I was so thankful for that Bible being there -- because I would have missed the blessing of that time in God's Word. |
