The Guys and Gals from Fury of Faith did it again they totally hear God over there in New Mexico. Our God is so big He is orchestrating this teaching for us all to grow together. It kinda seems like He is teaching everyone (way generally) the same thing at the same time and yet it is specific to our individual situations at the same time. He is cool like that and it never ceases to surprise me how bombarded I get when God starts on a new topic of teaching for the week, month or day. These past few months has been service and here is another right on devotion to chew on.

So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. 1 Kings 19:19,21
Elijah was a man of action. He didn’t gather a planning committee to discuss who should follow him. He didn’t sit down with Elisha and talk about the pros and cons. He heard God and moved into action.
Our actions are loud. They speak louder than our words. Action, not words show obedience.
Matthew 21:28-31 shows us an example given by Jesus to his disciples. "But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, 'Son, go, work today in my vineyard.' He answered and said, 'I will not,' but afterward he regretted it and went. Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I go, sir,' but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, "The first."
If we hear what the Lord wants us to do but do nothing, we are walking in disobedience.
We may know what we need to do and even told God we would. So why don’t we do it? Proverbs 14:23 says, “All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”
We are not doing ourselves any favors by putting off the things we know we need to do or the things we keep promising God we are going to do. We are choosing to stay unproductive and stagnant. No action on our part keeps us from growing. James 1:22-24 says, “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.”
Are we allowing our old nature to rule us? Remember, we are no longer slaves to sin. Are we afraid of the unknown, failing, or the obstacles we may face? Don’t allow the enemy to paralyze you with fear.
If we are going to see God’s Kingdom advance, we are going to have to move into action! We have everything we need! We have Jesus! We have the victory!
What have you been talking about doing? It is time to quit talking and start doing!
1 Corinthians 4:19-21 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
