My dad served in the Army just after World War II. He served in Germany as they were rebuilding. He meet a German girl and they had a baby girl named Alice Fay.Soon after he was shipped back to the USA. He tried a while to get them to the USA but his girl friend wouldn't come . After a couple of years he meet my mom got married they had three children. For years my mom wrote to Alice and her mom with no answer. My dad didn't hear a word. When I was 18 years old I ask my mom and dad if I could write to Alice. They said yes but I may not get a answer. So in the year 1978 I wrote to her and I didn't have her address. With The Lords help a couple months later she wrote back to me.Some how she got my letter her mom was keeping the letters away from her. She wrote to my little brother Doyle in the US and she sent us pictures of her family. My father found out he was a grandfather. Mom and I wrote for some years she was married and had three children. My father was sick a few years and was disable he had high blood presser, sugar and many strokes. In the year 1985 her and her family came to the USA to see us. Oh what a time we had my dad got to meet his daughter and grandchildren for the first time. The last time he saw Alice she was 2 months old. We learn that her last name Rath in English is Rat and out last name is Crow. It was the best time my father had in a long time. In 1986 my dad said to bad Alice can't come this year. Well in August in 1986 My Dad pass away to be with his Heavenly Father. I believe that The Lord wanted my Dad to have this gift of seeing his daughter before he went home to the Lord. Isn't our Heavenly Father Good To His Children! AMEND!!!!!
THIS WAS A GOOD STORY DOYLE I'M GLAD YOUR DAD GOT TO SEE HIS DAUGHTER AND GRANDCHILDREN.....YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT GOD HAS PLANNED MAYBE YOU ALL WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN..........
Doyle, That is a fascinating and wonderful story. I wonder how many other men are in the same situation as your father and how many families are separated in similar fashion.
