| What's that oozing from you? |
|
| |
What is that stuff inside you? It's oozing out all over everybody you encounter! Whatever is inside us is seeping, oozing, festering, dripping, or flowing out of us and getting on everybody who knows us! Are others refreshed from your oozings, or do they try to keep a distance from you? Are you filled to overflow with Christ's love, refreshing those around you as a flowing fountain or a cool Spring mist, or are you as a pimple, oozing and erupting with pus, or as a stagnant smelly slime? Whatever is inside you, you're spreading it everywhere!

5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.
4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst; the water that I shall give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
3:16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, 3:17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 3:18 may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 3:19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God. Express your appreciation to someone today for the River of Peace or the Fountain of Hope that flows through them and brings you refreshment!

OK, the visual here is either really bad or really good...
...I kinda hope I am like a mountain stream that flows over the rocks...cool, clear, refreshing. That is my hope. My real life is probably something more murky and not quite as soothing. |

| This post made me laugh, cringe, and throw up in my mouth a little. Great stuff. |
|
|
Your post reminds me of this passage:
2:14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 2:15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,

Hmm.... Ok so this one is way too visual for even me! All joking aside, I cannot understand what's inside of me, I try to do good, and find evil. I try to be loving and find bitterness. I have only one recourse, to trust that Christ in me is the hope of glory, that He alone being worthy, dwells in me, by the power of the Holy Spirit. If I believe my eyes and ears I will indeed fall into hoplesness, but in Him alone is the "Hope of Glory". |

| I hope that I am not oozing or seeping or festering, because those all make me think of a sore that won't heal. Hopefully I am more like a peacefully flowing river! This is a great visual though! |

LOL Loren! I'm sorry about that, but your comment fits beautifully with this post! :)
Voice, I added a photo to help with the better visual! (I didn't have a photo of a festering zit!) And you are definitely refreshing!
Thanks, Sooze! What a perfect verse!
Dennis, you, the Apostle Paul, and hopefully many of us! You said it well: Our hope is in Christ, and it is the Spirit within us that hopefully flows out of us!
Doyle, JesusFreak, and Jess, thanks, and sorry about the gross part!
Deb, your photo even has a peaceful flow! No sores in sight! :)
Thank you, Valya! You are definitely oozing all over with great stuff!

There was no misunderstanding this blog. It was oh! that's so nice and refeshing and then Oh! that's so nasty! Loved it! Your point was well taken. I would love to believe that I always ooz love and encouragement but being human I fear there are times when the oozing may be slimmy junk. Thanks for given us a visual to remember! Merry Christmas |

| OK we have choices since I can choose to abide in the true vine well I hope I'm overflowing with living water but there are times I find myself abiding in worries. then I realize abiding in Christ is my main job. So much for rambling. Love Blessings and Merry CHRISTmas as tiny tim would say God bless us every one. |

I will choose not to ooz!
Hm... I hate to sound gross, but we're all going to "ooz" something. The choice is, will I exude what God wants, or what my flesh wants? |

Words of an old hymn and a good poem:
Channels Only Chorus: Channels only, blessed Master, but with all Thy wondrous power flowing through us, Thou canst use us every day and every hour. 1. How I praise Thee; precious Savior, that Thy love laid hold of me; Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me that I might Thy channel be. 2. Emptied that Thou shouldest fill me, a clean vessel in Thy hand, with no power but as Thou givest graciously with each command. 3. Witnessing Thy power to save me, setting free from self and sin, Thou who boughtest to possess me, in Thy fullness, Lord, come in. 4. Jesus, fill now with Thy Spirit hears that full surrender know, that the streams of living water from our inner man may flow. The World’s Bible (by Annie Johnson Flint) Christ has no hands but our hands to do His work today; He has no feet but our feet to lead men in His way; He has no tongues but our tongues to tell men how He died; He has no help but our help to bring them to His side. We are the only Bible the careless world will read; We are the sinner’s gospel, we are the scoffer’s creed; We are the Lord’s last message given in deed and word— What if the line is crooked? What if the type is blurred? What if our hands are busy with other work than His? What if our feet are walking where sin’s allurement is? What if our tongues are speaking of things His lips would spurn? How can we hope to help Him unless from Him we learn? |

Cheryl and Cheryl, lol and apologies for the nastiness and the loss of appetite, and thanks for the positive comments!
Thanks, Dave, Helen, Jess, and Bill!
Mike, I'm sorry about the yuckiness! (I learned to say that from your blog!) Your poetry may not ever pay the bills, but when you feel it, let it flow anyway! :) |

Psa 23:5 You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
MY CUP RUNNETH OVER From the musical "I Do! I Do!" (1966) (Tom Jones / Harvey Schmidt)
Robert Preston - 1966 Ed Ames - 1967 Robert Goulet - 1967 Perry Como - 1968 Also recorded by: Jim Nabors; Bing Crosby; John Davidson.
SOMETIMES IN THE MORNING WHEN SHADOWS ARE DEEP, I LIE HERE BESIDE YOU, JUST WATCHING YOU SLEEP, AND SOMETIMES I WHISPER WHAT I'M THINKING OF, MY CUP RUNNETH OVER WITH LOVE,
SOMETIMES IN THE EV'NING WHEN YOU DO NOT SEE, I STUDY THE SMALL THINGS YOU DO CONSTANTLY, I MEMORIZE MOMENTS THAT I'M FONDEST OF, MY CUP RUNNETH OVER WITH LOVE,
IN ONLY A MOMENT WE BOTH WILL BE OLD, WE WON'T EVEN NOTICE THE WORLD TURNING COLD, AND SO IN THIS MOMENT WITH SUNLIGHT ABOVE, MY CUP RUNNETH OVER WITH LOVE.
WITH LOVE! |

The overflow from all of you adds to my flood and our choozing to not ooze but to be living water to those around us is what it is all about. I love you all and what an awesome vision this post gives us. Lets flood the world with living water and Light, in Jesus name =+) |

Thanks, Vanilla! I agree about the title!
"Lets flood the world with living water and Light, in Jesus name." Amen, Honoray!
Seeker, I'm not familiar with this song, although, judging from all who recorded it, surely I would recognize it if I heard it. Not specifically about God's love, but certainly romantic relationships are far deeper when flowing with Christ's love! Thanks for the interlude! |

Never would have thought to use yuckiness to express how others perceive us.... Are we really the reflection of our savior? Do we let other yuckiness cover the light??
Great Blog Kathy |

To be honest there are days... when there is a sweet, sweet smell flowing from within me, but then there are days when I'm oozing, and I can't stand that smell... I run to bath once again in the living waters of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and all is well in my soul again.

Hi, Kathy! I'm new to MyChurch. I appreciated this post! Our Lord wants to be living waters rising up and flowing out of us to others! |
|
|
I just have to post this for some reason:
I've got a river of life, flowing out of me. Makes the lame to walk, and the blind to see. Opens prison doors - sets the captives free. I've got a river of life, flowing out of me.
Spring up o Well. Down in my soul. Spring up o Well. And make me whole. Spring up o Well, And give to me. That life, abundantly. |

Hi Cheryl!
Thanks, Allen and Hopeful! Welcome to MyChurch! Allen, are you a pilot?
Jess and Hopeful, me too! I came very close to posting a video of that song on this blog, but didn't find one that was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for posting the lyrics! The song definitely fits here! |
