| What does the birth of Christ mean to me?? |

That was the question Pastor Norm asked us to think about this Christmas season.
Last night, after the kids were asleep and Santa had come, I had a wonderful quiet time with the Lord and I pondered that question....
You know, if it weren't for Jesus' birth, I am not sure where my faith would be. I do not think I would be strong enough to have Old Testament Faith. Yes, there miracles performed in the Old Testament, but without the fulfilling of the Old Testament prophecy of Jesus coming, I'm not sure I would have much faith.
With Jesus having come to earth, performing miracle after miracle, teaching through wonderful sermons/lessons, and of course dying on the cross, my faith is made secure.
We don't have to go through the gross rituals of sacrificing animals. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. I also have security that I will join Him in heaven when I die.
That is what the birth of Jesus means to me! Because of Him, I had a very peaceful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There was no hurt. There was no bitterness or anger. It was just a very peaceful day for all of us, and I thank the Lord for that. I did not expect to feel this way on Christmas. It was such a surprise gift of Grace the Lord gave me on His birthday. |
