| How the [insert group here] Destroyed Christianity |

I stumbled upon this old short story on the Internet. It's phenomenal! You must read it! It takes about 15 minutes. Here's the link, since I'm not a fan of copy/pasting entire article on the Internet (plagarism?). Here is a quote from the end (hey, read the story first!): "[The New Teacher] was warmed ... by the thought that throughout the school and throughout the land all children, all men and all women were being taught with the same faith, with variations of the same procedures. Each according to his age group. Each according to his need."
This fictional short story is highly relevent today because the same techniques are being used in the classroom today, both in elementary school and in college, as well as in the media for us adults. The book to the right, "Evolution for Everyone," shares a frighteningly large number of parallels with the short story, from teaching only one side, eliminating the negative, euphemizing the edge off hard truths, and constructing a new, complete worldview that can fill the void created from the one it shattered.
The only thing I can say to this is to stress the importance of discipleship. Wean yourself off of milk and crave spiritual meat. Learn how the Enemy works, be prepared for the spiritual warfare, and know the Answer. |
