This is really thought-provoking and worth reading very carefully. I hope many will come to understand the deep truths that are being stated here.
1. We should be more excited about the Word of God, rather than popular football. The fact that we are more interested in sports than the Bible shows how wicked our hearts are.
2. TV watching is like inviting 'death & destruction'. Very true. It leads to spiritual death.
3.
The TV is a household god. I have said this many times in my messages in church.
4.
Being loyal to one's spouse. Marriages in my country last forever; divorce is almost unknown.

Thank you, dave. I'm not going to call you hopefiend, but just dave.

I find it amazing how difficult it is for people to trun off the tube and walk away from it (or is it "turn off the LCD" now?).  We have never had TV in our home and our kids don't miss it. We are visiting a place right now that has cable. We watched some last night and my daughter, 12, made note that just by watching TV it makes you want things you don't have.  Oh, the observations of a pure heart. May it never become callous and fallow.

...and you are so right about not being able to take time to read the Bible. If we can't find the time, but we will watch Deal No Deal, then shame on us.  Communion with my God. That is my desire.

Great post Dave.

Yep;  I hate to admit if you turn a TV on during a riveting conversation with a live human.  I'm hard pressed to focus on the Human.
