But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. (Rom 14:10 KJV)
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (2Co 5:10 KJV)
Are you concerned for your friends and loved ones as they stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ? I fear for those who stand before God without the knowledge Timothy had:
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2Ti 3:15 KJV)
Remember, those “holy scriptures” were those of our Old Testament – the New Testament had yet to be written. Yet Paul wrote that the holy scriptures were able to show salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus. Awesome! Yet, many have not been made wise through these.
Discern, detect, differentiate, distinguish, discriminate – most of these have negative connotations in our politically correct world, but they have the same basic meaning. To separate that which we want from that which we do not want.
There will come a time when God – who has laid out for us for millennia what He does and does not want – will accomplish His own separation:
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (Rev 14:7 KJV)
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (1Pe 4:17-18 KJV)
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (Mat 25:32-34 KJV)
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (Mat 25:41 KJV)
Even if you haven’t known the scriptures and they haven’t made you wise to salvation, please spend some time with them in prayer and remember His promise:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isa 55:11 KJV) |
