Today is C's MathCounts competition (while she is sweating over quantitative comparison questions I am supposed to be doing chores).  I felt the above verse was appropriate because we have a 13-year-old friend named Daniel who is already a legendary scholastic chess champion in our state, as well as an all-round smart and great kid.  And I'm sure C would love to have Daniel's help right now, to tell her "what the writing means!"  ;-)

Such is life, however, that much of the time we face problems and testing by ourselves, without help from another person.  Remembering that these events are inevitably coming--and diligently preparing for them--will help us prove faithful under the stress of those moments of truth when they do arrive.  God bless!   ~L
