Pastor,

Your blog intrigued me because I also have come from a Babtist backround. I now consider myself, non-denominational. After I experienced God's healing power in my life, my baptist church family of 13+ years, decided that the things that had happened to me may not have been from God...uhhggg...anyway, I would love it if you read my testimony blog and gave me your feedback. I longed so deeply for a real, vibrant relationship with our God and when I became very ill, that was the beginning of that journey.

Looking forward to your insights and feedback,
Blessings,

Gina

Trackback (another blog that cites this post) to What Do We Believe:
I saw another blog on this topic and thought I'd chime in... I was at a conference recently for an organization that's taken the Apostle's Creed as its "Statement of Faith."  One of the speakers had been given a whole 45 minutes (!) to explain their theology. I ran into him in the lobby later and told him how much I appreciated his efforts, explaining that our church had made a similar decision to simplify our governing doctrinal documents. I explained that we had gone from a very conventional evangelical/conservative "Statement of Faith" (A series of complex sentences with many large and obscure words each followed by an isolated Scripture citation.) and had instead adopted the Nicene Creed.  He asked if I would send him a copy and a little background and here's my reply...
