16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 16:26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. Acts 16:25-26 kjv 119:62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
I was thinking about somethings as I read part of psalm 119 this morning before church. Many times, when I am going through trials that seem very hard get through, I am struggling just to hold, and not sure if I can make it. I will start to praising God for all He has done in my life even in the bad times to. I have learned to thank Jesus for the bad also. To me when the storms rise and the battle is becoming overwhelming, I can't sleep. I will lay there dwelling on the problem. I will lay there and cry and complain. When I have had enough and realize that is getting me no where, I began to seek the face of God. I start praising God for all He has done, thank Him for all His judgements, thank Him for the storm I am in, and letting God know how much I love Him and need Him. when we do that God will make the earth shake rattle and roll on our behalf. We stand our tallest when we are on our knees, praying and worshiping God then He is more then able to move. Paul and Silas was cast in prison, that was one of their storms in their lives. They had choices; they could have complain, moan, whine, or have a self-pity party, but they didn't. Instead Paul and Silas started to praise God and God move in a mighty way. God does the same-thing for us if we will praise and worship God with our whole hearts. We all can be like Paul and Silas was. Lets all start worshiping God, praising God for all His judgements, and pray seeking God's face, then we will find favor with God and He will move on our behalf. Its the midnight hour, so lets start praising God, will you join me? |
