Faith - The words belief and faith come from the same Greek word, pistis; Stongs Concordance #4100. It means to rely onl; an entire confidence or trust in God's character and declarations, and in the character and doctrines of Jesus Christ, with an unreserved surrender of the will to His guidance, and dependence on His merits for salvation. In other words, the firm belief of God's testimony, and of the truth of the gospel, which influences the will, and leads to an entire reliance on Christ for salvation.
Prayer Focus for Lifegate Church in 2008 - (Please pray with us in unity)
Father God, thank you that I have been justified by fath and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ...For I know that without faith it is impossible to please God.
Thank you Jesus I am growing strong in my faith as I give glory to God, and through that faith I am counted as righteous. Therefore I walk by faith and not by sight. I have been crucified with Christ! It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me, and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
So then, as I have opportunity, I will do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith here at Lifegate Church. I will always give thanks to you God, for my brothers and sisters, as is right, because my faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one and for one another is continually increasing.
Father I will continue to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness, fighting the good fight of faith, and I pray that the sharing of my faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. Amen |
