The Bucket List! Recently I watched the new movie the "Bucket List," starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. The movie is based on two men who both have terminal diseases and have decided since they are going to die they would create what one called a "Bucket list". The list was made up of things that each wanted to do before dying. The list included things like jumping out of an airplane, driving fast cars, and much more. As I watched the movie I began think about how it is a good example of what is considered more important to many people, that is most people tend to think of only of the natural, and only do they think of the Spiritual, the soul, until they get closer to the end. I have to admit that I used to think like this before coming to Christ, you know, the "Eat , drink, and be merry !type of attitude. But now looking back, and knowing how people think, I can't help but get more stirred to talk to people regarding their Souls.
Have you ever heard the saying, "Out of site out of mind?" That is the type of mind set people tend to exhibit about their soul's security, "out of site out of mind." This is why it is so important to Christians to continue to tell the story of a Savior! It is our duty "AS Christians" To awaken the lost and dying world to be more aware of the Eternal things. 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. If We as Christians don't tell the story, people will think like " The Bucket list ",and end up seperated from God Forever!

Keith: I'm secure and I witness to people and my drive is help people to come to know and love the Lord. If I was told my life would end soon? I've been thinking about this for some time now.
I see nothing wrong with leaping out of a plane, in fact I would clutch a BANNER with "I love the Lord!", and live my life so that as many people as possible would remember that lady who loved the Lord. Because if they remember, they are going to remember God. And if they remember God, and think about Him, perhaps they will dig deeper, and maybe, just maybe they will come to love him. If I can capture just one PERSON for God then I will have done my job. There is nothing as fun as catching people for God. God everyone in a different fashion. My daughter told me that I pray more than any person she knows. I've called a God Lover. Eccentric. My point is: God knows me, inside and out. He knows why I do things when I don't know why do them. Make any sense? |

I've thought about what type of bucket list I'd have, if I had the same "opportunities." I wonder what everyone else would think? My own list (top five - in no particular order): 1) Visit the Holy Lands 2) Make sure my family has the funds to take care of themselves after I'm gone. 3) Pay the mortgage off on the church 4) Visit the rest of my family in Europe 5) Make sure that everyone I knew was aware of what they mean to me.
I can take a pass on sky diving and scuba diving - although I'd love to do that too. These five are the most important to me if I had only a short time. And, in case anyone wonders, I've had the opportunity to think about it. |

OK we view live as a period before eternity and I reckon the world views life as a long dash before a final period. I'll bet nothing on that list will compare to praising Jesus. 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood.

Gene- Thank your for that list of things you would like to do! Doyle- Good to hear from you! Arlene- Sharing your faith can be frustrating at times , however just keep in mind that we are not responsible for the results, we are just commissioned to go! Dave- I will take sharing Christ over anything on that list too! |

Arlene- I think that we all who are passionate about Souls feel like that at times , but agan we just have to keep praying and living the life before those whom are Lost! Yes the Lord does love sean Keep praying for him and sowing the good seed. Jason- If you keep praying and living your life before them as unto the Lord, God will soften there heart, and who knows they my turn to the Lord because of your life and your prayers. You may or may-not ever see it happen but th point is " Keeping the Lord before the Lost! Keep praying bro. |

First of all, the bucket list: When I read your blog I thought of a daily bucket list, that is confessing my sins daily, praying daily, worshiping the Lord daily, etc. My thought is this, I would love to have some of the desires of my heart, but I would rather know that I am the apple of my Father's eye, and then take it from there.
2nd - Arlene, I pray for you and your frustration. I believe that when we become frustrated with a situation it's time to step back and let God do the work. Just continue to pray and interceed and do as Evangelist Wilson has suggested, and love him to life!
Last but not least, why is it that the spiritual things were the last things desired on the list, if thought about at all? Because we, as a society put God on our list last and expect Him to understand. What if we were last on His list? Where would we be? Selah
I love you all. |
