| Short but sweet and simple revelation: The measure you use will be measured back to you. Yes, it is the simplist Scripture, but only recently have I really understood the extent of it. It is good to, when you start to put high exspectations on someone, and are tempted to judge them, to think,'would I want them to judge me that way?' 'Would I want them to have such high exspectations upon me I could likely never fulfill?' We do this, I think, more with one another, instead of the world. But "blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." That ties right in with the measure you use being measured back to you. I want mercy. God knows I need it. I have fought a judgemental and critical spirit within myself, and needed the Lord to really wop me over the head with this one. And it is a good thing. So whenever I start to think evil of my brother or sister or exspect too much from them, I am a lot more apt to think, 'how would I want them to treat me?' Nothing big, like I say. But powerful to change you. |

I love the simple revelations... simple, yet for some profound.
This is one... which I have walked through too. Thanks for posting this... am following His lead... or would have responded sooner. *wink (all in HIS timing).
It has been my experience over the past 30 years; as HE brings us into His ever increasing light... we come to understand the greater spiritual significance of inspired scripture. We are able to discern it on levels which touch our heart... and transform our inner man and draw us into more intimate relationships based on His truth and love ... flowing from HIM as our source.
Your teaching reminds me of what I believe I received from Father... in 1988 regarding the changes of heart Father was going to bring about in His Church in the future. I was led to share it at: The Gifts of Visions and Angelic Visitations experienced by Seekers and the Body of Christ 'the first comment' . I can see the fulfillment of what I received taking place among many I meet... and have experienced it myself. The fruit in our lives is in line with: 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love (availeth). 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 5:8 This persuasion [cometh] not of him that calleth you. 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you. 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [ use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Few recognize... from what I have observed... WE reap what we sow... whether it be to the spirit or to the flesh. Judgments we have sown... may at times mirror us back to ourselves.... especially if we judge the heart of another from our own perspective... and not necessarily Father's. At such times we may project unto another falsely... we may be looking to the outer man... judging their flesh... and thus seeing from a fleshly perspective.
Sometimes we forget...

Father... Sometimes we forget whence we came... we forget the grace which is offered us and some of us forget to choose to extend it. When we forget or are unaware... we expect another to do something, we can only do through Your grace... Your power from within. Pride and self righteousness can rise up in such moments... bless You for Your power of conviction, which leads us to humility... and back to Your grace.... offered through unconditional love... manifesting Your truths.
Some of us have experienced Your grace... and forgiveness and thus have such seeds to sow... it seems to be when we are in need of more seeds to sow... more light... more power.... You cause us to remember... whence we came and bring us into greater light, equipping us for that which is yet to come. Thank You through such, we can freely come to You, without condemnation, or a judgmental attitude for the harvest of love, grace, truth, joy, wisdom........... which You have sown into our lives ... a harvest we have sown through our union with Your Spirit.... through Your raising us in the way..... You have set before us. What a blessing it is to know we can rest in You and Your power to keep us .... your power to bring to remembrance... that which You have said to us in days gone by. |

| The following teaching link was sent to me via email, you may want to consider it for further insight, after you read the following... this teaching witnesses to what the Spirit of the Lord has already made alive within me and thus I would like to share it with others to consider before HIM as well. It seems to be, the fear of being deceived hinders many from becoming spiritually mature as overcomers through Christ, because they do not have a clear understanding the Spirit of Christ within us, empowers us and gives us discernment when we seek it and desire HIS truth to become our own experientially, our having chosen to surrender our all... for the new life Father offers through HIS son, in exchange:
Discerning False Prophets Submitted by Clay Sikes Aug 1, 2005 Introduction
The strength of the oppressor lies in the ignorance of the oppressed. Let us awaken to the false doctrines of false teachers that lead to our oppression. To be unaccepting of the prevalence of New Testament scripture warning us of false doctrines from false teachers is to keep the door of oppression open wide in our lives. The modern day prosperity message is massive evidence of the oppression and subsequent destruction caused by false doctrine. There is now enough historical physical evidence of the true motive of this doctrine - GREED! While the prosperity message is by no means the only false doctrine used to 'bleed the sheep,' its massive destructive force has been experienced by enough of God's people, who now have a testimony from their experience, to begin to open the eyes of sleepy saints. The wiles of wrong doctrine now has a place in 'modern Church history.' Before leaving the subject of 'bleeding the sheep,' let me fire a warning shot across the bow of those who practice 'the law of the tithe.'
The Time Of False Prophets (Teachers) "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death" (Revelation 12:10,11). We are living in the hour of "the kingdom of our God" upon the earth. We are living in a time in which those who overcome do so by the precious blood and "the word of their testimony." Overcomers are those who "do not love their lives so much as to shrink from death;" they have died to themselves and made the great exchange, His life for theirs. We have learned that our "testimony" is the word made flesh in our lives - the amount of 'word' we walk in: the symmetry of the 'word' and actual life - our testimony. Our life reflects the revelation we walk in. As will be discussed later, we will see how revealing the word 'testimony' is in discerning a false prophet. Please keep in mind the relevance of 'testimony' throughout what is written here; it will take on new meaning as we discuss false prophets. In a sense we are living in the greatest of times and the worst of times. Greatest, in that we are seeing God's Kingdom come upon the earth in unprecented ways; worst, in that false prophets (teachers) have been released in unprecedented numbers. We are living in the hour of false prophets, and accordingly, must be on guard against their influence in our lives. Not one well-meaning Christian would allow a false prophet into their life knowingly; but many are presently doing so unwittingly. Let us never state that we weren't warned ahead of time. Perhaps articles like this are part of the warnings mentioned in Matthew 24:25. "For false Christ and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles TO DECEIVE EVEN THE ELECT if it were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time" (Matthew 24:24,25). Scripture gives us a specific time frame in which false prophets will appear; and while their existence has been well known since the time of Jesus, we have entered 'the time of the false prophet.' False prophets will appear during the same hour, the same moment in time in which "the Kingdom is being preached." And as with every move of God, the enemy has a plan. The devils' answer to the Kingdom's forceful advance in the earth is the unleashing of false prophets and the anti-Christ spirit (Matthew 24). Diversions in the form of false doctrine are aimed straight at the Body of Christ to delay the advance of 'the coming Kingdom' (present tense). "At that time many will turn away from the faith AND WILL BETRAY AND HATE EACH OTHER, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people…and this GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:10,11,14). Betrayal amongst God's people, coming in the form of jealously and disloyalty, has raised its ugly head; doctrines with little relationship to the word of God are rampant, yet the KINGDOM IS PREACHED to those who have ears to hear it. During recent weeks, months, and years many of God's true prophets have been shouting from their spiritual roof tops, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done ON EARTH…" They have zeroed in on "Sonship," hearing and obeying God, not moving out of any motive except having heard the Holy Spirit. They have taught us that faith comes from having heard God; they have taught us the difference between 'the World's System' and 'the Kingdom of God.' They have taught us to be drawn to 'The Way' of the Kingdom (complete dependence upon God), and to turn away from the ways of the world (complete dependence upon man). They have taught us that order with man begins with order with God; that the Body must first be reconciled back to God before the true Church can be built. Any man with spiritual eyes can see the "living stones" being placed together; the Kingdom is now coming upon the earth. With all the awe of this 'great moment' in time, we are also given a warning - "Many false prophets will appear and deceive many people…" (Matthew 24:10). As the Kingdom continues to come upon the earth so to do false prophets appear. For some strange reason we have little trouble believing the word in many different areas, but completely bypass the many warnings given about false prophets. This should serve as a wake up call that this Bible truth is as true as the rest! For years the question has been asked, "How will I know a false prophet when I see one?" False prophets pervert truth, and what makes them so deadly is their depth of knowledge, or better-said, intellectual understanding of what truth is. They dazzle us with their knowledge of scripture, often entrapping us with their beliefs through their skilled use of God's word. They are often gifted with the ability to work miracles, cast out demons, heal the sick, and other supernatural occurrences. There are, however, ways to discern and separate the true from the false. Ask for God's gift of discernment as you read the following scriptures. "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing (one who appears to be God's own), but inwardly they are ferocious wolves (their real motive is to eat the sheep). Here is where we get out first hint of a false prophet, "BY THEIR FRUIT YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THEM. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree CANNOT BEAR BAD FRUIT, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, BY THEIR FRUIT YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THEM" " (Matthew 7:15-20). As if obvious traits like disloyalty, mean-spirited, selfish, pleasure loving, covetous, pride filled, arrogant, lazy, and unfaithful were not enough, God gives us yet another gauge through which to see the false prophet. We all know the fruit of the spirit; love, joy, peace…, but in a more interpretative sense "fruit," in the context of Matthew 7:15-20 is linked to a man's character, his inner self, who he really is; HIS TESTIMONY. A man's life as a Christian, or his testimony, reflects who he really is - it reflects the character of God or a lack thereof. CHARACTER CREATES TESTIMONY, and while we can argue doctrines until we are blue in the face, we can never argue a man's testimony. A testimony is what it is! Our testimony, like it or not, is a reflection of what truly resides within us. Admittedly, we are all a work in progress, but consistency of character will reveal good fruit or bad. We do not suddenly get good or suddenly get bad; it is a process and that process is our testimony. Our testimony is not a one-time event; it is our consistency pattern, or characteristics that determine character, which ultimately determines our true testimony. How does our life experience define us? Watchman Nee, in his book Sit, Walk, Stand opens with "If the life of a Christian is to be pleasing to God it must be found properly adjusted to Him IN ALL THINGS. Too often we place the emphasis in our own lives upon the application of this principle to some single detail of our behavior, or of our work for him. Often we fail to appreciate either the extent of the adjustment called for or, at times, even the point from which it should begin. But God measures everything, from start to finish, by the perfections of His Son. Scripture clearly affirms that it is God's good pleasure "to sum up all things in Christ…in whom also we were made a heritage" (Ephesians 1:9-11). God measures things from start to finish. Our lives, even our past to some extent, represents who we are, and who we are is what dwells within our heart; and what is in our heart is the fruit of our actions past, present, and future. From a practical standpoint, without accountability to our past, there is little room for correction in our future. As we gaze into life's rear-view mirror, the debris from past mistakes should be less and less visible as we travel the road of life. If the debris piles in our immediate past are not less, the lessons and necessary changes from those lessons should indicate that we have perhaps followed a wrong spirit.
Separating The True From The False A number of issues will be discussed here that will assist us in discerning the true from the false; and while the points made in this discussion are by no means the only elements of separating the true from the false, they will point us in the general direction of understanding. We will first discuss obvious observable differences, and then the more subtle ways of discerning differences. A true prophet will point you to Jesus, and the vision HE HAS PUT IN YOU. A false prophet will point you to himself; his vision, his purpose, his ministry, etc., The vast difference between the true and the false is that the true will always, always point you to the Jesus in you: your calling, your ministry, your purpose, and your destiny. The 'true' can point you to nothing but Jesus…the 'false' can point you to nothing but man; often himself. The false prophet will always leave you empty in a crisis, while the true will leave you full. The true prophet speaks to your heart, while the false will excite your eyes and ears. THOSE WHO ARE EASILY IMPRESSED ARE PRIME CANDIDATES FOR DECEPTION FROM THE ANTI-CHRIST SPIRIT THAT FALSE PROPHETS OPERATE FROM. While the following observable difference is not a law, I think it worth mentioning. For some years there has been great favor within the Body of Christ for the works of men and the gifts of God that operate in men, while there has been little emphasis upon the true character of God within those same men. Character seems to have fallen by the wayside as Christians, much like their counter-parts in the world, have given their respect to external gifts and works rather than the internal character of God. In other words, it has been 'what the man is all about' rather than 'who the man really is.' Character is internal, while gifts and works are external. Our character is eternal, our gifts temporal. To which should we show the greatest respect? While we may admire beauty and talent, our deep respect should be reserved for Godly character. What is character in the context of this teaching? Character is an identifying factor in separating the true from the false. Character is a man's testimony - who he is, and what he is. It is what his life says about him. In God's eyes, we are not defined by the externalities of who we are (our name, works, titles), but rather the internalities of what we are (our true character.) Character is a reflection of heart. Who we are in the worst of times will always reveal us (James 1:1-15). What did we do when tempted, angered, tested, tossed...? Fire shows us the 'why,' and reveals the ugly 'who!' You do not have a testimony, good or bad, until you first have a test. All you have left when a crisis has ended is your conduct during it. Crisis produces spiritual reality and revelation relative to the depth of our real faith (love). A man's true character can never be seen as he rides the crest of success; but allow hard times and crisis to enter and true character will surely surface Our testimony (what we purport to believe) and our life should reflect one in the same. No man can truly lead you where he has never been. A great indicator between the true and the false is that the 'true' can only teach what is true in their life (their testimony), while the 'false' will attempt to teach, with equal passion, what they have never experienced for themselves. Arthur Burt, in defining revelation states, "Situation must be married to revelation. Until your revelation works in your situation, you do not really have a revelation." A False prophet will readily teach you what he does not personally walk in (Matthew 23:3). Nothing is more numbing spiritually than to watch one teach what they have no real revelation of. We are only qualified to transfer (to others) what we know. Transference is the true anointing. "Gold and silver have I none but such as I have I give thee. Stand up and walk…" "They overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY" (Revelation 12:11). If our testimony does not match the word (revelation) we preach, teach, and espouse, we are no more than a sounding gong. I can teach salvation because I am saved. I can share salvation because I have experienced it. I can espouse divine finances because I walk in God's provision. My word and my testimony are one in the same. A true prophet teaches what he knows from his heart (Luke 6:45), while a false prophet teaches what he knows from his head. I can be a false prophet in your life when I teach what I do not know or walk in personally: when I express my opinion apart from God, or when I say things from the wrong spirit. All of these things I do with some degree of regularity, which is why I always say test it! We none are above the capability of being false in the lives of others. As previously stated, we Christians, like our counterparts in the world, are enamored by 'the gifts.' Just as 'the world' places high premium on beauty, talent, and skill, so to do we, as Christians, hold in high esteem those gifted to preach, teach, heal, cast out demons, do miracles and the like. We tend to place little value on character or testimony, but like lambs to the slaughter are impressed by, and dangerously follow those with gifts. As mentioned; during the time the Kingdom is preached there will be many false prophets released into the earth and the very elect will be deceived were it possible. The point of this writing is not the danger of false prophets as much as it is the danger of adapting doctrines taught by these so called 'ministers.' Let the following scripture cast a warning to those who are enamored by men with 'gifts.' "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, "I never knew you. Away from me you evildoers!" (Matthew 7:21-23). From the above scriptures we begin to see the value God places upon gifts. God's premium is placed on those with His character, not necessarily those with his gifts. It is the work of the enemy to rob us of our destiny and purpose; and this is being done at an alarming rate by the deceiver's chief tool - DECEPTION! Deception brings destruction, and there is no better example of this than the "The Modern Day Prosperity Message" being perpetrated upon God's people by many false prophets. The enemy knows that our discernment is at its lowest when our needs are the greatest. He can easily deceive us with a supposed word from God (from a false prophet) that appears to meet our needs. "If you need your bills to be paid send money to this good ground TV ministry!" It is important to remember that a false prophet's purpose is to eat the sheep, or better said, eat off the sheep. Be careful of those who feel entitled to your provision! It is a loud signal that a wrong spirit is speaking! Those most susceptible to this deception are those who have yet to die completely to themselves; those who still reside in the outer court, in their soul. Man followers are also highly susceptible to this deception - those who subscribe to teachings like 'being under the covering of a pastor or denomination' (Matthew 23:8-11). Those who follow men have one strong commonality - no power when trials come! "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it" (Matthew 7:13,14). Isn't it interesting that following Matthew 7:13,14 we find "Watch out for false prophets" (Matthew 7:15). Recognize the connection between "false prophets" and "the broad gate that leads to destruction." Do you think it strange that God's word says, "many enter through it?" I believe with all that is within me that this writing is directed to the "few" who will enter the "small gate and narrow road that lead to life." Interestingly, the word "life" is the same word "life" in John 10:10 in which Jesus says, "I have come to give them life, and give it more abundantly." The mission of the false prophet, knowingly or unknowingly, is to keep God's people from attaining Jesus' gift of "abundant life," which is the fulfillment of destiny and purpose. As I reread the words, "Enter through the narrow gate," I felt I heard the Lord say, "Fat people cannot get through the narrow gate!" As I meditated on what God meant, He explained "Fat" in a figurative sense meaning those who are full of themselves, and thus to big to pass through this narrow place. Only those who are small can walk through a narrow gate - small in the sense that they have died to themselves, their personal agendas, their pride, etc., John-the-Baptist said, "I must decrease that He might increase."
Deception Comes When We Fail To Love Truth Scripture reveals that failing to have a sincere love of the truth will lead one to embracing deception. If we have been given light and truth, but fail to walk in it, even what we have will be taken away and the Father will consequently send delusion to these saints. II Thessalonians 2:10-11 "because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false..." Those who run after and seek the truth (even when it hurts) will be spared the powerful delusion that causes men to believe lies. Delusion seduces those who eat off the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, often appearing in the form of good works that have little or nothing to do with God. Those most susceptible to this delusion are those who are not truly led by God's Spirit; those who confuse good with God. Other aspects open us up to deception: rebellion against the governmental order of God; harboring idols; and a spirit of unbelief are some of the more evident things. We must not despise or reject prophecies and teaching, but must carefully examine every word. Rejection of truth can come in many forms, but single most among them is the outright rejection of God's appointed Prophetic Ministry sent to the local Church. This cause of this error is pride driven, with the deceived being more focused on personality than actual spiritual discernment. Local prophetic ministries are seldom recognized for the truth they bring or represent. Rejection of these ministries is now revealing sobering consequences. Never in the history of the Church has discernment been more important to the Body of Christ. It is a most needed gift of all the gifts of the Spirit. With each passing day we are closer to the triumphant return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and with each passing day the enemy's tactics of deception grow. The spirit of anti-Christ is not coming (future tense), but has already come (past tense) (1 John 4:3). It is naïve to believe that we are not all subject to being deceived by this spirit; hence, the importance of knowing what this spirit is all about. Knowledge of this massively deceiving spiritual force is critical in this hour. Where will the false prophet/anti-Christ spirit levy its first major influence in our lives - OUR FLESH! This spirit will always appeal to our inadequacies, our often-poor self-image, lack of success in health, spirituality, ministry, finances, marriage, business, etc., It will offer knowledge, identity, self worth, stability, purpose, and supposedly destiny. The anti-Christ spirit appeals to the worldliness in us - often a worldliness that we do not recognize as being such (I John 4:1-6). It is almost as if one must experience an attack of this spirit to get an understanding of its power. I speak from first hand experience: I have a testimony. Grasp the words of the following scriptures - "Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be maligned; and their GREED will exploit you with false words…" Money is often the motive of a false prophet! II Peter 2:1-3 "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies...Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3 and in their GREED they will exploit you with false words..". Christian Television is a primary venue for "false teachers" whose "destructive heresies" continuously exploit the Body. Their "greed" is hidden by their appealingly noble purposes. Christian castles, buildings erroneously called churches, faster planes, flashy clothes and jewelry, bigger houses and cars have all been purchased with 'sheep skins' - dollars from the herd. Local pastors and traveling evangelist have also 'beat the sheep' for more money. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked - man's greed is often disguised as ministry. The spirit of anti-Christ is a spiritual force that always leads us away from Jesus. As stated, it lures us with supposed spiritual leadings that appeal to our flesh. The telltale sign of this spirit is that we will be asked to compromise Jesus in some seemingly small way. It is also of importance to know that this spirit is not aimed at the world, but rather God's own people. It will always attempt to exploit our impatience, while those being used to exploit us will do so out of their own "GREED." Greed is not so subtle - it is there to be seen should we care to look! Often our spiritual naivety will cause us to overlook this less than subtle factor. Perhaps we begin to understand why "the children of darkness are wiser than the children of light." I John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God; Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of anti-Christ, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." Here is the acid test. What does "every spirit that DOES NOT acknowledge Jesus" really mean? When we take actions, without the leading of the Spirit, we are NOT "acknowledging Jesus" through those actions. We are moving in our own strength and purpose. When we represent those actions to be God-purposed and God-motivated we have fallen victim to the delusional force of the anti-Christ spirit. According to Matthew 7:21-23, only "he who does the will of the Father," is he who "acknowledges Jesus." When I first saw this connection between I John 4:1 and Matthew 7:21-23 I shouted! Spirit-filled Christians who are not Spirit-led Christians lead powerless ineffectual works, which are capable of creating chaos in the lives of God's people. But let us take it a step further. What about those who are NOT doing the will of the Father who are prophesying, casting out demons, and performing miracles? "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, BUT HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME: YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS" (Matthew 7:21-23). Matthew 7:21-23 in NIV calls those who are not submitted to the will of the Father, "evildoers." Many well-meaning Spirit-filled Christians are not Spirit-led. Actions that are NOT originated by God's Spirit can be costly, and those who take such actions are highly susceptible to the spirit of anti-Christ. Emphasis is placed upon the external; what the eyes can see and the ears can hear (Isaiah 11:2,3/II Corinthians 10:7). Who are God's true Sons and Daughters? Those led by His Spirit (Romans 8:14). This may come as a shock, but most Spirit-filled Christians are not Spirit-led Christians; hence the yearning within the Spirit filled to become Spirit led. How can we do the will of the Father if we are not regularly hearing His voice (John 10: 2-4/Romans 8:14)? As discussed, we have seen those with extraordinary gifts to preach, heal the sick, do miracles, and yet felt no witness to them as strong men of God? Many prophesy, cast out demons, and perform miracles, yet do not do "the will of the Father." These men, despite their outward appearance, are not walking in the Kingdom (Matthew 7:21-23). Only he who does the will of the Father will enter the Kingdom of heaven. Get an understanding; to do the will of the Father one must be "Spirit led." This should give new meaning to Psalm 1:1. From my own experiences I am convinced that many follow the anti-Christ spirit without any knowledge of what spirit they are following. The sin of presumption often hides itself in noble purposes, and presumption is the birth canal for Ishmael. The anti-Christ spirit is not just after your money, he is also after your time. When we birth Ishmaels we waste much time, and as the hour grows later and the time shorter, diversions will become the devils greatest tool. If nothing else is understood in this writing, please understand this - the gifts of God are without repentance (Romans 11:29), which means that God freely distributes these gifts just as he does musical talent, athleticism, etc., Men do not always use the gifts according to God's will. Our own tradition will make the following hard to accept. MINISTRY GIFTS CAN AND DO OPERATE OUTSIDE OF GOD'S SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS.
Some Who Perform Miracle Healings Are Not Necessarily God's Men! As we delve deeper into this understanding, as previously mentioned, we humans are quick to judge based upon outward appearance though we are warned not to (Isaiah 11:3/II Corinthians 10:7). We are quick to judge good and evil and often that judgment is based upon what we see and what we think to be God. Be aware in the area of healing, miracles, and other signs and wonders: all that appears to be founded in God IS NOT. While it important to give God the glory for such healings, it is equally important to properly discern the vessel through which such gifts operate. In short, miracles are not a sign of God's unequivocal endorsement of the individual, but rather a sign of His great compassion for His people. There are many within the Body of Christ today who are taking these signs and wonders as God's unmitigated endorsement of the individual and his ministry. There are leaders within the Body who are using these gifts as a platform upon which to pillage the Body for money and support of their personal agendas. As previously stated, miracles and signs and wonders performed by individuals are no more an indication of God's character in a man than the gifts that beset great musicians, athletes, or scholars - as mentioned, the gifts of God are without repentance, meaning that God can and does bestow His gifts upon whomever He desires. Those who discern properly will quickly recognize the farce that is often being perpetrated upon the unsuspecting Body. The time has come for the unsuspecting Body to awaken to God's call to come in behind the veil and commune with Him; to awaken to the fact that God desires to have communion and relationship with His people. This intimacy produces discernment, which causes us "to know them by their fruit" (good or bad). God wants a one-on-one relationship with us; a relationship that puts man in complete dependence upon his God with little to no dependence upon man. To the extent we depend upon man, to that same extent we forego God. To the extent we depend upon God, to that same extent we will forgo our dependence upon man. The time has come to be awakened to the gift of discernment that is activated in you as you seek God, spend time with Him, and obey His voice - "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). The real character of God is formed in us as we spend time with God allowing a true relationship to develop. If we are not eating the "bread of life" - God's spoken word to us individually, we are missing the most dynamic part of God's design for man while living upon the earth. Awaken to the reality of false prophets! Awaken to the fact that the greater one resides within you (I John 4:4); you are entitled by God to know the true from the false. The inner witness within you will separate the Spirit of truth from the spirit of falsehood. Overcomers walk in this power. "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the Spirit of falsehood."

The Kingdom of Our Father and HIS Son in our Present Day
What the Spirit of the Lord has made alive in me: via the elect who are preaching Repentance and the Kingdom of God ... the resurrected Spirit of Christ is manifesting HimSelf... establishing HIS Kingdom of earth as it already is in heaven (Jesus taught us to pray such as we wait upon HIM daily for that which Father offer through love and mercy).... and before, possibly during the greatest tribulation man has known globally to date... HIS Spirit will be glorified through those HE has prepared in advance for such as this... they will be a city of refuge... the new Jerusalem... a city of light, offering HIS Light/truth, peace and righteousness with Him, as His Bride having made herself ready for her Bridegroom and the great day of the Lord and through those who have a testimony of HIS overcoming power via the Holy Spirit within... revealing the manifestion of mature sons and daughters of the most High... living as Kings and Priests with/through Him, as part of our inheritance through Christ.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father, (Daddy). His Spirit bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together with His glory. For I recognize that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole of creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:14-23 For whom He did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21 Since His eternal Holy Spirit dwells in us now... as a portion of our inheritance, then we already have eternal life and HIS overcoming power we can draw upon daily as we recognize and let go of that which HE already crucified in our behalf.
And hast made us unto our God, kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. We are being trained to do so as we die daily to that which is already dead... (died in Christ) and choose to walk in that which is of Spirit and truth... newness of life eternal
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. (as do we) Likewise recognize you also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield you your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace. Through Christ we are alive from the dead NOW... we do not have to wait for this awareness after we shed this outward cloak of flesh and go to heaven, so to speak. Could it be... this is one of the mysteries of God which is being manifested to HIS Own in our present generation... and soon we will all walk manifesting our body of sin has truly been redeemed by the power of the resurrected Christ within?
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the Kingdom of God come with power. Mark 9:1 Luke 9:27 Could He be referrring to when they were translated out of the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of HIS Son confirming Jesus' resurrection, when the Holy Spirit came upon those of HIS choosing with power causing many to be born of His eternal Spirit at Pentecost ... though their bodies tasted death their Spirit lives forever. Could this also be referring to those who are born of His indwelling Spirit, and thus born into HIS Kingdom NOW, He having become our head our having submitted our bodies for HIS purposes? Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the Kingdom of His precious Son: where we now abide in word and truth through the spirit of the Lord alive within through the gifts of faith and grace
| |
But seek you first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 May our priorities be Yours Father.... through the indwelling Christ and the power of Your word, And when Jesus was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the Kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20-21 His Kingdom is established first in our hearts one believer at a time, from generation to generation... through the indwelling Presence/power of the Holy Spirit abiding within as our teacher/guide/His living word, empowering us to live by HIS Kingdom rule... for we will love HIS law and desire/seek to live His great commandment of love as our own. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 If you have not yet fully surrendered to HIS will for Your life... and His overcoming power through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit... who translates you out of the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of HIS Son, I will stand with you... in faith I have received, that you too will receive all HE offers, when you do so. Preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. Acts 28:31 May those of Your choosing preadh repentance and Your Kingdom... and those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with Your power... with signs and wonders... with confidence in YOU... no man forbidding them. For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy through the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17 For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. 1 Corinthians 4:20
For this you know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God our Father. Ephesians 5:5
That you would walk worthy of God, who has called you too In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Ephesians 1:11 share His Kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2:12
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of His Kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him? James 2:5 May we guard ourselves through Your convicting power, from seeking after and serving the god of mammon... from walking after the flesh rather than Your Spirit and Kingdom of Righteousness... through Christ... Our Lord!
For Father God, who is rich in mercy, through His great love through which He loves us, even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us (made our Spirits alive/reconciled to our Father) together with Christ, by grace you are saved; (it is no longer our old man who lives but the power of the resurrected Christ, who overcomes) and has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places (the Kingdom of God ruling in our hearts), in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come He might show, the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us, through Christ Jesus. For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:4-10 And now, brethren, I commend you to God our Father, and to the word of HIS grace, which is the power to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified through Christ. Acts 20:32
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, Which Father wrought in Christ, when HE raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His Own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And has put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is His body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. Ephesians 1:15-23 |
Thank You Lord Jesus for revealing Our Father and His Gospel to us... Bless You Father for sending Your son... for reconciling us to you... in our present and through that which is to be... for revealing to us Your Gospel and Your Kingdom and for the gift of repentance and all it brings as our inheritance through You .... Bless You for Your anointing which breaks the yoke of every bondage through the power of the Holy Spirit within... we rejoice with You in the reality we are Your family who walks in Your glory... according to YOUR conviction, revelation knowledge, timing and unfolding plan for each of us! |

Revealed in Paul's Letter to the Ephesians | | Coloured Spectacles
All of us, when we read the Bible, tend to do so wearing coloured spectacles. The colour of these glasses depends on our church affiliation, or on our doctrinal stance. The spectacles serve to blind us to those things in Scripture which do not line up with our way of thinking, and to emphasise what accords with our own particular denominational or theological background. I am personally aware that this has been true in my own life, and I have changed the colour of my glasses a number of times, finding, each time, truths which had been hidden before, and fresh meaning in things which I had previously thought, mistakenly, that I had fully understood. No doubt I am still seeing through spectacles which are not totally clear and free of colour, but, having laid aside all church system associations, and coming to the Epistle to the Ephesians afresh, it has again been my joyous experience to see some of the truth of this wonderful Epistle of the Church in new and exciting ways, and I find myself saying, "Why didn't I see that before?" And I realise that it was because it had been obscured by those very spectacles I have been referring to. God's Glorious Eternal Plan
In chapter one Paul sets out the revelation he had been given of God's plan for the fullness of time, "To gather up into one all things in Christ, things in heaven and things on earth." God is going to do this by choosing and calling a people to Himself, who will live "To the praise of His glory." These called-out "saints" hear the Gospel of salvation, believe and receive the seal of the Holy Spirit. Paul then prays for them, and asks that they be given," A spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge (the full personal knowledge) of Christ", and "That they may know what the hope is to which they have been called; what are the riches of God's glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power at work in those who believe.". This power is the link between heaven and earth. It is demonstrated in Christ, raised from the dead and made to sit at God's right hand in the heavenly places. This risen and exalted Christ is totally supreme and far above all other rule and authority, power or dominion, and His name is above every name which can ever be named. It is He who has been made, by Divine appointment, Head over all things for the Church, and the Church is His Body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. So, the revelation is of the saints on earth, united with the Head in heaven, fulfilling that eternal plan of God set forth in Christ. The Church is the Head in heaven united with His saints on earth. The awe-inspiring statements concerning the Head, Christ Jesus in verses 20-23 should overwhelm us with their glory and wonder. The Church, revealed in this Epistle, knows no earthly headquarters, or human supremo. Her Head and headquarters are in heaven, and her Head is the one bearing the ultimate supremacy of power and authority in the whole universe of God. And we on earth are united with Him! We are His Body, through which He acts on the earth. Amazing Grace Chapter 2 relates first how we, who are dead in trespasses and sin are made alive with Christ, raised with Him and made to sit with Him in the heavenly places, and all this by the mercy, grace and infinite love of God. One New Man From verse 11 of chapter 2 further amazing facts about the nature of the Church emerge. In the Church, Jew and Gentile, previously at enmity and wholly irreconcilable, have now been joined into one in Christ. Race and cultural barriers have been broken down by the Cross. Note well the fourfold recurrence of "one". "He is our peace, who has made us both one." (2:14) "That He might create in Himself one new man" (2:15) "That He might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross" (2:16) "Through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father." (2:18) So, we see that the Church in God's eyes is ONE. He created it so. Race, gender, social standing and previous religious identity are all set aside in Christ and in His Church. The division of His Church is an abomination in the sight of God. How far are our present "churches" from the clearly revealed will of the Father! Our Privileges
Verse 19-22 are very concentrated and packed with truth about the Church. First note who we are; "Fellow citizens with the saints", and "Members of the household of God." To obtain this status there is only one condition, and that is that we should be "In Christ." We do not have to join some organisation called a church or fellowship, or to affiliate with some denomination. Just being 'in Christ" qualifies us for these privileges of being "Fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God." If we are in Christ we are in His Church. Church building
There are three building verbs in chapter 2:20-22: 1) "Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets." 2) "The whole structure is joined together" 3) "You also are built into it." Each of these building verbs is in the passive mood. The clear and unmistakable inference from this is that it is not the saints who build the Church. They are simply being built into it by the Lord. We are citizens of the "City whose architect and builder is God." (Hebrews 11:10) The Church to which we belong is that of which Jesus Christ said "I will build My Church." Summarising then, we see the Church and its nature revealed as, " A City of which we are citizens. " A Household of which we are members. " A Holy temple of which we are the living components. " A Body of which we are members. This Church is one. Such a thing as denominational divisions never entered the mind of Paul, nor was it ever in the plan of God. Paul would be utterly mystified were he to come back and observe the mish-mash we have today. He knew only The Church of which Jesus Christ is the sole Head and Builder. Paul had never been in the business of church building. That was the Lord's work. The Apostle was in the business of proclaiming Christ, and as people responded to the Gospel, Jesus Himself built them into His Church, made the citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem, members of God's family, living stones in His temple and functioning units in His Body. Paul's Revelation and Ministry In chapter 3 Paul first of all discloses the source of these truths concerning the plan of God for the Church. He had not perceived them by natural intellect or reasoning, but by direct revelation from God. He was called to a double ministry arising out of this revelation. The first element of this ministry was to proclaim "the unsearchable riches of Christ", and then, secondly, "To make all men see" the glorious facts concerning the role of God's Church in His universe. All true believers are "Members of the same Body and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Gospel." That Body's calling is to demonstrate to all the principalities and powers both angelic and Satanic the "manifold wisdom of God." How lost is this magnificent vision of the nature and purpose of the Church! Maybe an end-time work of God will be that of restoring to us this revelation of the nature and purpose of the Church, along with people sharing Paul's burning desire to make all men see it in its glory.
The Beating Heart of the Church Right at the central core of this Church-revealing Epistle is the prayer in chapter 3:14-21. Here we touch the beating heart of the Church as God desires it to be. It is built of those who have been made strong in the inner man by the Spirit of God, who know in reality the indwelling of Christ in their hearts, whose roots and foundations are deep in Love, and who are discovering more and more of the infinite dimensions of the love of Christ. Such believers, corporately bound together, are a vessel to contain the fullness of God. Thus is revealed the lifespring. It is love, God's love in Christ increasingly perceived, received and shared in the Body. Is that an idealistic dream? No! It can come about by "the power at work within us", and the experience of it can far exceed our asking or thinking. In such a Church, God, and only God gets the glory, because it is a Church wholly in harmony with the Head. Love Lost It would seem that the Ephesian Church, in its early history, tapped into this central lifespring of love, and experienced in rich measure the fullness of God for which Paul prayed. But, some years later, the character of that church had changed. Although correct in doctrine, zealous and patient in good works, something was missing. That central, living fountain of love had dried up and the Spirit of God was grieved. Not all its orthodoxy or unwearied patience could make up for that which had been lost. The living waters were no longer flowing, and the call of the Spirit was, "Repent." (Revelation 2:2-7) Love - The Hub It is significant that the two great prayers of this Epistle in chapter 1:15-23 and here in chapter 3:14-21 should both be concerned with "knowing." In the former the prayer is for "a spirit of wisdom and spiritual understanding in the knowledge of Him .... that you may know." Here it is "to know the love of Christ." This knowing is not intellectual, but experiential and relational. It is intimacy, deep in the spirit with the living Lord. It is being "rooted and grounded in love." This is the power source and pulsing heart of the Church and that is why this prayer is embedded here, as the hub around which the rest of the Epistle revolves. If, in these days, the Church is again to emerge from out of the confusion of mens' churches, it will be because God is stirring the spirits of men, as described in Ezra 1:5, to flee from the Babylon of the ecclesiastical systems to the Jerusalem of the Church of the Living God. The cry in the hearts of such will best be expressed in these Pauline prayers. They will be a people whose burning desire and sole passion is to know the Beloved. With such love-intoxicated saints will Jesus build that "Holy temple for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit?" The Unity, Gifts and Ministries of the Church Chapter 4 deals with maintaining the unity of the Church, and with the gifts and ministries within it. It is a chapter which has been the focus of much attention in Pentecostal and charismatic circles in recent years. Here again ecclesiastical and preconceived doctrinal views have acted as coloured spectacles to cause the interpretation of this chapter to suit the interpreter and his prejudices. It is so important to see this Epistle whole, and not to lift out any particular text, divorcing it from its context. Verses 11 & 12 of this chapter have suffered most from this kind of treatment. Paul first issues an urgent appeal for believers to lead a life worthy of their calling as members of Christ's body, and highlights five characteristic features of such a life. 1) Lowliness or humility 2) Meekness 3) Patience 4) Forbearance 5) Eagerness to maintain the unity of the Spirit. It is interesting that we do not hear nearly as much about these fivefold character qualities as we do about the fivefold ministries of verse 11-12. But, when the chapter is looked at whole, it is evident that these ministries will only be released in such Christ-like people. Christian character is of primary importance. Following this, comes the supreme statement of the unity which is theirs who are "in Christ". In relation to the Church, note how the apostle states with stark and uncompromising simplicity, "There is ONE BODY." Now perhaps you begin to see what I mean in emphasising the importance of context in regard to the fivefold ministries. These ministries are spoken of in the context of ONE Body, and not of the motley collection of denominations and "streams" which are the feature of the scene today. Look at the church scene in any town or city of New Zealand today. Who would ever guess from what they observe that there is "One Body"? And where is the evidence of eagerness "to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace"? And who is majoring on the five marks of Christian character Paul insists on? So, if we are eager for the manifestation of the fivefold ministries let us first put them in the right context, for only so will they come forth in the way of God's appointing. "Grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift." So states Paul in 4:7. He is speaking therefore of a Body in which every member has a function accorded to him by the Head. That function is not simply the exercise of some natural ability, but the employment of a grace-gift of the Lord. Among these gifts of grace from the heavenly Head are, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, whose function it is "to equip the saints for the work of ministry." And the goal and ultimate aim of all this is the building up , or edifying of the Body towards the time when "we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Unity of faith, intimate personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus, maturity and Christlikeness. These are the characteristic of a Church where every saint is functioning in his gifts of grace, and where the ministries of verses 11-12 are being exercised in the context which God ordained. Put the above picture alongside what can be observed in the towns and cities of our land, where different denominations compete with one another to plant churches, and where the religious smorgasbord becomes ever more confusing to onlooking unbelievers. Oh! How far have we strayed from God's blueprint set forth here? Immature Christians In verse 14 Paul shows the characteristic of immature Christians. They are, "Tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine." How true is that statement of what we see in churches today. There is always some new thing, some "In" teaching. These things have their brief day and then some other emphasis replaces them. Christ Jesus Central Instead of this experience of being carried away first by one doctrine and then another, Paul exhorts us to a growing up into Christ. The preventative against immaturity and being tossed to and fro is to concentrate on Christ, to have Christ central, to have as our aim an ever-deepening knowledge of Him. As we do this, so we enter into an experience of the fully functioning Body of Christ, described so beautifully in the words of verse 16, "The whole Body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love." May the Lord hasten the day when these truths in this great passage on the unity of the Church are heard and heeded, and men are willing to lay aside their divided and fragmented churches for the ONE Body with ONE Head. Then shall we see again the gifts of the risen Lord fully manifested as each receives from Him grace according to the measure of His gift.
How then Should We Live? From verse 17 of chapter 4. through to verse 20 of chapter 5. Paul comes to the nitty-gritty of Christian behaviour and character, how those who are members of this Body of Christ should live. The keys to this section are, to me at least, 4:20-21 and 5:18-20. In the former passage he speaks of "learning Christ". Not, be it noted, learning about Christ. It is an unusual phrase, but he explains what he means in the next verse where he continues, "assuming you have heard Him and been taught by (or 'in') Him, as the truth is in Jesus." The secret of behaviour which is worthy of "the calling with which you have been called" is to hear from Jesus, to be taught by Him, and to recognise that ultimate truth is not abstractions or even doctrinal statements, but that truth is a person, even the Lord Jesus Christ. So Christian character comes from a relationship with Jesus, and from the inner teaching of His Holy Spirit. The other key passage is that in which we are exhorted to "go on being filled with the Spirit" and to have our hearts full of praise and thankfulness. The Holy Spirit is the inner life of the "new nature" which we are exhorted to put on in 4:24. He is the life of the new creation planted within us, which is "created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness." The Husband and the Bride From chapter 5:21 to chapter 6:9 Paul deals with marriage, family and work relationships, and embedded in the teaching about marriage, are some of the richest and most profound truths concerning the Church in all of Scripture, truths holding within them revolutionary dynamic, if and when they are received and applied today. Here are the clear declarations of this amazing passage 5:21-23. Christ is the Head of the Church, His body, and is Himself her Saviour. The Church is subject to Christ. Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present her to Himself in splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. Christ nourished and cherishes the Church, because we are members of His body. Christ and His Church are joined in unity. Could there be any more comprehensive revelation of the utterly complete provision which Christ has made for His Church? These glorious facts lay the axe at the roots of all institutionalism, of all human headship and control, and call us into a relationship of simple faith-dependence on Christ our Head, secure in His love, His constant care and provision, and looking to Him to fulfil His word to present to Himself a Church resplendent in beauty and holiness. Where are those who are willing to come out of the ecclesiastical organisations and institutions, putting away dependence on men and casting themselves in self-abandonment into the arms of the wholly-sufficient Husband of the Church, His body of which, by grace, we are members? Only those who have the courage so to do will be in a place to prove the truths of this altogether blessed revelation. Are you ready to say, "I will" to this Husband? The Church in Conflict
The conflict of the Church and the provision of God for that conflict are the subjects of 6:10-20. The intensity of this conflict will be most acute for those determined to enter into the revelation of Church that this epistle has set forth. But, praise God, the resources are provided in the full armour of God to enable us to stand unvanquished by the hosts of darkness. A Final Word The final word of the letter is fragrant with the graciousness and goodness of God. Peace, love with faith and grace are the blessings invoked on "all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love undying." And so we return to what we said was the living heart of the Epistle, love, the love which surpasses knowledge, yet which can be known, and which can fill us with all the fullness of God. Truly we cry, "To Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus to all generations for ever and ever."

Thanks Doc for posting the above at your blog ... the body needs such as you here at mychurch.
When I was first born of the Spirit in 1978... the Spirit of the Lord led me to pray the prayers Paul prayed for us in Ephesians... as my own... and to stand in faith that such be manifest for us all. With that in mind I am being led to add to the above, that which I received as fruit of that prayer:
The above article asks: Where are those who are willing to come out of the ecclesiastical organisations and institutions, putting away dependence on men and casting themselves in self-abandonment into the arms of the wholly-sufficient Husband of the Church, His body of which, by grace, we are members? Only those who have the courage so to do will be in a place to prove the truths of this altogether blessed revelation. Are you ready to say, "I will" to this Husband?
May I offer by way of encouragement ... I am one such a member of HIS body... having heard His call in 1989 to come out... and surrender my will to trust HIM with my life and the life of my family completely... Jesus being the initiator and finisher of our faith, through Jesus revealing HimSelf to me outside of the systems of men. Click: In the beginning... Love Manifested (my first vision) I have met and fellowshipped with others who have also been called out since....they too having heard and responded through love, obedience and revelation knowledge. YES... we had to face 'fear' and 'what if's' in the doing, and persecution... but we each came to recognize experientially, as we were surrendering to the subtle control of the system of religion, we were in danger of falling into the trap of an 'us and them arrogant mentality' and 'depending on the religious system and it's hierarchy's as our head .... a place, we were being taught, we must to be so we could worship, be fed spiritually, fellowship with the family of God, tithe, be accountable to men and...... a very limited perspective/concept and way of being.... something Father desires to bring to an end... and is in the process of doing globally... exposing all which seeks to get us to live of inherited traditions... and natural understanding, rather than encourage us to hear from HIM and obey HIM for ourselves... Jesus being sent as the author and finisher of our faith with power from on high.
After coming out... through Father's faithfulness... we have not lacked ... our faith has become richer... as has our relationship with HIM.... for that which HE promised HE has been faithful to do... we are accountable to HIM... and HE is faithful to keep us in the faith, however HE chooses. The inner knowing/faith HE imparts... is truly a gift of grace... offering the cloak of humility and the righteousness of CHRIST ... our Lord. Through HIS indwelling, overcoming power... HE is faithful to cleans us... teach us... lead us... give us the spirit of discernment... and empower us to overcome the works of the flesh as we grow in Spirit and truth as sons and daughters of Father God, (according the the prayers of Paul prayed for the body of Christ expressed in Ephesians)... with the awareness we are living out Father's plan for us ... having heard and responded through deep repentance and the grace of unconditional love and extended mercy.
Just before responding to HIS call to come out in 1989, I was given a series of vision of the future... one being: Click: God's Vision for His Church which I have posted at mychurch and at the website HE ordained www.EnterintoGodsRest.com: "After being encouraged consistently by many, to write down my intimate testimonies of the sovereignty of God in my/our life for the benefit of others and seeking HIS will on the matter myself, a Believer came to me and said, 'Father told me to give you a years salary. You are being called to write.' Not always knowing what the Spirit of the Lord wants me to write in advance, I meditate and wait for His anointing; I believe I am to publish some of what I receive here ... for those HE sends, to consider it before HIM " In 1989, the Spirit of the Lord revealed to me my future before HE called me out... which has been coming to pass... and that which is yet to be fufilled globally... which is also coming into being; the pressure which is being put upon the economy... and the corruption which is being exposed in the 'kingdoms/systems/governments of men'... being part of that.
The Spirit of the Lord is warning us through such... calling us to repent... and enter into HIS Holy Kingdom of truth and love... to lay aside all which hinders.... to come up higher... to no longer serve that which seeks to keep our carnal nature bound to the ways/thinking of the flesh and to enter into HIS rest... His eternal plan for us... one which truly brings HIM glory... when spiritually discerned... and His Spirit is bringing such to pass for us... even when we are unaware of the work of HIS hands... behind the scenes.
May I leave you with an excerpt from one of Joel C. Rosenberg's Prophetic Novels 'Deep Heat' to ponder before HIM: "The world is out of balance, Jonathan," Rajiv began (Rajiv became a terrorist) ........."I don't believe there should be only one superpower in the world. It's too dangerous. A country that is answerable to no one else becomes arrogant. Corrupt. Greedy. Bloodthirsty. And that's what has happened in America. She swaggers about the world as if she owns the place. She invades countries for no reason. She bombs civilians without mercy. She thinks she's superior to everyone on the planet, and it's not right. The world is out of balance, Jonathan, and I decided to set it right."
Those who call the arrogant/corrupt/greedy/bloodthirsty/power hungry/devouring spirit which is presently ruling in America and some of her 'religious institutions' and political means, 'Satan incarnate'... sees what many within her systems cannot see: when we do not humble ourselves... and fall on the Rock... the Rock will crush us...
And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. Matthew 21:44 As a superpower... America began to fall... when the 'world trade center' was taken down before the eyes of the world and her government went after natural Babylon in the flesh, decieving many... such puts me in mind of the symbolic imagery of the destruction of mystery Babylon used in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus;
and the aspect of one of the visions I received in 1989... when I saw a spiritual Tidal Wave begin, on the East Coast of America ... which would affect the world's economy and expose the corruptions of the Kingdom/Systems/Governments of men... bringing about the ultimate victory of the Kingdom of God on the earth... as it already exists in heaven... through the Bride of Christ... the new spiritual Jerusalem... the City of God and our Father and HIS Son... revealing HIS indwelling light in the world... offering a place for our spiritual man to enter in.. giving cause for the bride and Spirit to say as one: "Come Quickly Lord Jesus"
And after these things (persecution of the true believers faith and those who are against HIS Kingdom of truth) I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. Rejoice over her, [thou] heaven, and [ye] holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft [he be], shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. Revelation 18:1-24 The SPIRITUAL IMAGERY used above... to me is symbolic spiritually of what is taking place in our generation; a pulling down all strongholds which mystery Babylon has sought to establish in place of HIS truth/Kingdom revealed through His prophets and saints... and all who were slain for righteousness sake.
This is good news to be declare ... FOR HIS KINGDOM has come and being established on earth as it already exists in heaven, through the HAND OF GOD... our Father and HIS Son... and not the hand of natural man... a Kingdom HE called into being at the foundations of the world and is bringing to pass according to HIS unfolding plan... it is truly a glorious Kingdom, because it reveals HIS glory for all to see and know experientially!
\o/ Glory!!!!.

| | | | Having sought our Father for HIS present truth, I am being led to offer the following for you to consider before HIM as well:
It seems to be the present day Spirit/attitude of America symbolizes mystery Babylon, spiritually speaking ... because America as a melting pot of people from the Nations/cultures/religions in the world, ultimately represents aspects of the unredeemed nature at war with the Spirit of Christ within... she mirrors different aspect of both the redeemed and the unredeemed nature, back to each nation, giving humanity globally the opportunity to see themselves as a mixture of flesh and spirit... some having tasted of Jesus' truth/power, seeking to 'do what is right in their own eyes', others in open rebellion... all in need of the present day power of the sovereignty of God in our present age and the age to come.
Could it be, America in the role of mystery Babylon, reveals the limitations/aspects of humanity which hinder spiritual growth when it goes unchecked .... when the carnal nature does not want to be accountable and seeks to build it's own Kingdom for gain, like those who followed the leaders of Babylonia in days of old?
Could it truly be, in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, the unredeemed nature is being manifested as mystery Babylon (the Harlot versus than Bride of Christ) ... in a symbolic imagery form, to expose/mirror the unredeemed attitude of those who come together as one body of people... to build their own Kingdom outside of His redemption, and the Spirit attempting to overcome present day America is being used as an example of, one at war with the Spirit of all that is redeemed?
Could it be, the symbolic representatives of Babylonia in ancient days... before the language of man was confused and man was scattered, preventing carnal man from building their own limiting Kingdom ... was a precursor/foreshadow of what was to take place spiritually in our day... revealing the contrast of the Harlot and the Bride of Christ, giving all the change to choose having seen the contrast?
Could it be, the Spirit of Lord, through love and mercy, seeing into the depths of our hearts, chose to stop them because HE has a more glorious plan already in motion, through the promised Messiah?
Could it be... today, Father is still intervening, in behalf of HIS creation... to bring about the fullness of HIS glorious plan and the last days of America as a self righteous wealthy superpower is a warning to those who seek to imitate her attitude/greed, as well as spiritual insight for those who are yet to be?
Could it be we are being called out from such a mindset... to receive the mind/power of Christ afresh... whereby His Kingdom rules our heart and lives... rather than that of the kingdoms of man?
Could it be the handwriting of HIS Kingdom, a call to repentance to receive anew, is on the wall and all are being given eyes to see, ears to hear and...... to receive that which is already ours to embrace... Jesus being the author and finisher of our faith?
Father we seek YOUR confirmation as to the truth of this... one way or the other. Thank You we can rest in Your faithfulness to do so.... |
