| Addiction 101: There's Gotta Be More To Life |
|
| |
*******READERS WITH SHORT ATTENTION SPANS BEWARE THIS IS EXTREMELY LONG BUT VERY INTERESTING******* This post is the first of several on the subject of the body. These topics are not meant to lay guilt on anyone, I myself have lived through almost all of these. Including this first one. I am an expert by NO means. I would love help on this and any other subject that I present. Any comments are welcome. WAIVER- This message is my own creation I did the research for it and I really don't know if my church believes it or not. But this was written from personal expirience and isn't really a sermon so much as an outreach of information. Please don't try to pass this off as your own work. I welcome any extra information but this really did take a long time to figure out what God wanted me to say here. And besides I would love to give youu permission to use this for whatever. Honest. And now on to the message... Addiction 101: There's Gotta Be More To Life This study is on the types of drugs and their affects. The Story In order to understand what I am talking about here you need to be able to put yourself in the mindset of an addict. So I wrote a paper while I was high. I hope you will be able to visionize. A Day In My Shoes You wake up to the biggest headache you've ever had. A migraine for sure. Your throat is sore and it feels like it's been turned inside out and been shredded. You find that your nose is clogged and you hope that it's not another nosebleed.You roll out of bed. Not sure wwhat's really there and what's just a hallucination. You don't even knoe what day it is.You just know you're alive and everything hurts. You stand up and vertigo hits. There's a moment when you almost throw up but you didn't eat yesterday and your stomach is empty.You make it to the bathroom and your eyes are blodshot. You splash water in them and try to wake up. You get to the kitshen and know you won't find anything. You haven't eaten for the past two days. Or at least, not enough to keep you alive.Just then your stomach explodes and there's nothing you can do but hope it's over soon. It lessens but the pain keeps going. It feels like you ate a dozen C4 (dynamite) sticks and the fuse just went out. But you don't make a sound. No tears fall, no sound is heard.You get to school where no one believes that you are that type of person. No one knows and you plan to keep it that way.You can't concentrate, the days smear. Your grades, the ones you worked so hard to get high begin to crash like you do. You've come to realize that this is your life and it's not good. The rest of the day is worthless and you can't remember much of it. By the time you're on your way home, you can't remember the conversation you had with your friend not five minutes before. You try to keep it from your parents but even they have noticed that you've changed. There's an awkward silence at the dinner table as you sit down to eat a piece of toast and a spoonful of peanut butter. That's all you'll eat todya. Not that you want to eat that though.You begi to wonder why you can't stop. Why this can't all end. You wish you were dead. By that time you are so sick, the only thing you can do is turn on the radio and hope tomorrow doesn't find you this bad. You hear a song you are sure you used to know but you don't even remember the words. Several times during the night you wake up to the feeling that someone is standing over you, ready to kill you. These things are so real that you grab the knife you use to cut yourself and clutch it until you fall asleep. But you'll only get maybe three hours of sleep anyway.You're going nowhere and can't help it. Pretty soon it's the only thing you're living for. And it's the thing that's taking your life. The Scripture sorry that was a long story. But all true. 12:10 [Be] kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
34:18 \34:17\[The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

WOW ! You are pretty informed ! Your blog is very informative ! I do not claim to know all about what is going on in your life. But, 34 years ago, I was a drunken druggie. I knew some people worse than me, some not as bad. Then I met Jesus, God's Son. HE SET ME FREE !! Not all at once ! But HE SET ME FREE ! I got involved with other local believers. Huge help. I learned that the things I was looking for...................I had found in Jesus !! God Bless You Shell ! Thanks for sharing................ |

This is awesome. I did some different drugs and chemicals, but never woke up quite that way, though with certain drugs (and prolonged use) you most definately can. I remember the throat thing from doing blades on a daily basis, and my throat bled a lot----and I was only 17. Yes, sometimes drugs were fun, but they were an escape, and a substitute for the real high that the Holy Spirit can give you, minus the headaches, incoherensy,dopiness and tracers. there is a reason the Word says, "Do not get drunk off wine, but be filled with the Holy Spirit." There must be a comparison then, eh? Great research, but even for research purposes, you need to be careful, because, as I am certain you have noticed, drugs open a demonic door. This was informative and I am glad that you have chosen Jesus over this stuff now. Good choice! |

Shells OUTSTANDING Testimony
I been there but I was much older and yes different drug and my body went through a lot of thing not the same as yours but it was enought for me to let go after 30 some years and let God take control. I found out through all that I could not fight this battle alone, I tried but my flesh was week, but today I can say GOD gets all the glory and your past is behind you.
