| Scripture Hitting Streak (Part 1) |

Two days in a row I have opened the bible to a supposed random verse. Both times they have been exactly related to something I was just talking about. I can hardly believe it, it is so amazing. How great is our God who can talk to us through the bible? This is part one... Two nights ago my wife and I were talking about Jesus' last words on the cross. We were trying to understand them. Maybe he was referring to something in the old testament? "Why have you forsaken me?". Sure enough the next morning I am using a Turning Point study guide and the question says to read Ps 22:1-5. Well, to make a long story short, here it is: 22:1 "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" I wasn't compeletely shocked. This has happened to me before. I ran out to tell my wife. We read the Psalm together. It was so cool. We felt like Jesus had started praying the Psalm when he died, and we picked it up with and for him. All the way to the end: 22:31 "...and He has fulfilled it." It was a great experience. It made my day. Plus, I think it points out three things we need to remember: - God speaks to us through the bible.
- David prayed this Psalm in faith. God is always faithful and we must pray the scriptures in the same faith.
- In faith, by the power of the Holy Sprit, we become God's means to fulfill his mission on Earth.
