 PASTOR'S UPDATE
Wednesday Teen Group I had a chance to sit in on the Wednesday night teen group this week. I had the night off from my usual class. It was neat seeing the good number of teens who show up on Wednesday night. I was able to lead a discussion group with the senior high kids. I was impressed with their questions and thoughts as we tackled a difficult passage in Romans 1. I appreciate Chris and his volunteer staff who are doing such an outstanding job with our teens. Please pray for this Sunday night as they have their outreach at the bowling alley at 6 PM. If you know of any teens you would like to see connected with the church, this could be a great entry point into our teen ministry.
EASTER 2008 I can't believe I am doing this but Easter is just a few weeks away. Easter comes early this year and we are already thinking about it. Every year Easter is a huge outreach at our church. We often have the largest day of our year on this Sunday. The choir puts on their Easter musical on Palm Sunday and then Easter Sunday is usually well attended by many people who normally don't attend out church. What can you do? - Begin praying now for Palm Sunday (03.16.08) and Easter Sunday (03.23.08)
- Pray for the adult choir and JAM kids as they prepare for Easter
- Think about who you could invite, many people are open to an invitation at Easter
- Attend the 9 AM service to make room in the 10:30 AM service
- Consider carpooling with others to relieve the congestion in our parking lot
- Volunteer on these two Sunday's to help greet, usher etc.
- Pray for me as I prepare a message that will connect with folks on Easter
Let's all work together to see God glorified and people reached with the gospel.
This Sunday
We continue this Sunday in our series on Questions. This week we will be looking at Mary. When the angel Gabriel appears to her she is forever changed. 1:34 And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? We will be looking at Mary's response and how it teaches us about facing change in our own lives.
Sunday night Harry Newman is bringing a message based on the book Love and Respect which is the book he will be using in his upcoming new small group.
We had to postpone this class Sunday due to the funeral for Edith McCorkle this Sunday afternoon. Please pray for this family in their time of grief.
